IMO, she did the correct thing. More parents should be doing the same. With that said, if the video of her smacking her son was released without the public realizing why she was doing so, she would be arrested and child services brought in.

During a riot? Conditions are what matters here.

I doubt you'd find one policeman in Baltimore that would be willing to go after her considering what was going on and what he was doing. Oh sure, some bleeding heart liberals probably want her drawn and quartered, but this kind of tough love is what potentially puts him on the path to a straight and narrow.

And let's face it, what would your mom have done if you were out there tossing bricks?

They just did a piece titled "Is thug the new n word".

You have no idea how DCF works in Florida my friend, it could be a ****ing terrorist attack and they wouldn't care, gramps was spot on in his analysis. While I applaud her for her actions, six kids outta wedlock is a bit much.

How many times have the usual racist suspects on here complained about poor black parenting as the root cause of everything negative about the black community?

Here a woman reels in her son and gets him out of the maelstrom and you can't appreciate that she's doing exactly what you have complained there isn't enough of -- discipline her son. Sorry it isn't going to bed early on pizza night. The woman is at least trying to do what she can in her circumstances to change the pattern.

Good to see you posting more often Gramps. Hope Granny is doing well too.

IMO thug doesn't pertain to certain race, like nggr does. N was another word for negro. Any race can be a thug.

Well said.

Unfortunately for the mom and son, it may be too late. I recently saw some data indicating dad is the key parental figure in raising well adjusted children. This information runs counter to modern day societal attitudes that moms are the most important.

Speaking as a father of 3, i CANNOT imagine trying to raise my brood without the cooperation of my dear, sweet wife. How single parents retain their sanity is beyond me.

My point is this. You have the President calling people thugs. You have the mayor doing it and several city councilmen doing the same thing. And then come under fire for it.

At around 1:45 the councilman goes on a rant about the word thug. So why is it when a white woman uses the term, she means something else entirely? Yet they can't address the stupidity of the allegations of racist undertones when used by the President of the United States?

This mindset is a byproduct of ownership of words. 20+ years ago, the notion that one ethnicity "owns" a word and are the only ones allowed to use a word became accepted. What you witnessed is the notion of word ownership expanding.

It seems like the word thug is being used to distinguish between protesters and rioters. At least in this context.

More broadly, it seems like it is used as a qualifier to young black men who actually are criminals versus young black men who just wear the same clothes.

CNN reported this morning there was a divider in the van and they could not see one anther. There was also another person being transported stating it was a quiet peaceful ride.
One of those two is not being truthful.
