Baltimore Unrest

Could she be siding with justice?

Police misconduct is not limited to white cops. Take a look at the 6 charged in this case, 3 white, 3 black.

Finally -- Shows this rioting crap should not be based on race, like the media and guys like Al and Jesse, love to put it. --- its just jerk cops with cavalier attitudes

Is there a chance that Freddie Gray's Constitutional rights may have been violated (Hint 4th, 5th and 8th Amendment)?

There's always that chance his rights were violated. That's why we have due process. Unfortunately, he paid the ultimate price.

Should there be an investigation into the matter? Certainly. My concern is that this is beginning to resemble a witch hunt against the officers charged. Simply put, change of venue or not, these officers probably will not receive a fair trial.

With several outstanding warrants against him, isn't that grounds for capture and detainment?

At the time, they didn't know that. Plus, they still haven't come up with a charge for why they arrested him in the first place. Lastly, although Gray did have an assault and tresspassing charge and maybe one or two more charges that I would consider "crimes", the vast majority of the offenses that Gray made in his life were possession charges. The libertarian in me can't really justify rounding up people on non-violent drug charges.

And even if he shot The Queen of England, how do you realistically explain him getting his back broken and larynx crushed? I tell you how... if Gray was on his belly and a cop had him in a choke hold while having a foot/knee in his back...

She shouldn't have a voice?

Yes she has a right to voice what she thinks. Does it give her the right to flat out lie and make things up that obviously didn't happen? No.

She was called out on her lies by several of the CNN correspondents after she made another attempt to make the LEO's look like Colonel Kurtz.

Sounded like you were shaming CNN, but looks like they did right in the end?

I was at first. The reporter asking the questions seemed to be empathetic during the entire interview, then (of all people) Don Lemon interrupted, along w/ several others and began to dispute what she saw. Also, she wasn't the only one interviewed that made that claim of police brutality running amok.

What I viewed last night were young people that were not there on protest and for what they believed in supporting that community, raising awareness of this situation. These individuals were there (well past the curfew) to antagonize LEO and force them into a situation that would be caught on camera, while they fabricate what ever lies will be possibly be believed and recorded by the media.

These people were shown and reported to be hurling every possible expletive and insult at the officers there. Some were even spat on. That doesn't make you a protester...it just proves you're an a**hole.

Really... that's disappointing.

Riddle me this, Batman. Had a black man with 6 kids that he couldn't afford gone down there and beat his son on national TV, do you think we would still call him a "hero", or would we be asking how could a deadbeat dad not be more involved in his life beforehand and not prevent this in the first place?

Ohh... and breaking news. Ask yourself this. How was this mom able to find her son in the crowd in the first place? The story that was reported earlier was that she was at "work" and saw him acting up and she marched down there to get her son. Well, the truth is that SHE was involved in the rioting beforehand along with everyone else, and just so happened to catch her son in the neighborhood acting up.

So which story are you going to believe? That a single mom of 6 in the inner city just happened to be at "work" and just out of luck, she was able to pinpoint her masked son out of all of the crowds on the TV screen... or... she was on the block, caught up in the event herself, and just so happened to run into her son while she was rioting and looting herself?

Anyone?

Poor Freddie. Such a fine upstanding citizen. Taken from us so young......before his 26th arres...........er birthday.

I'm sure that if you had a relative who made a lot of mistakes and had trouble with the law, but was unjustly arrested and died in the custody of the police, your good riddance attitude would stay strong.

Oh, wait, no it wouldn't. I guess that's called hypocrisy.

Wow.....it must be said viewing the world like u do....all this faux rage over a guy flipping someone and "gasp" the cop talking to him....I have dealt with a few a$$hole cops before just didn't sit around and cry about it....of course I have dealt with a few piece of sh&t nurses and a bunch of other professions as well.

I'd love for there to be quite a few changes but overall I'm a happy guy. Here's what it boils down to for me...

I didn't create these rules. I have yet to be consulted for imporvements. Yet still I am forced, by threat of violence, to live by them. The thing is, for now anyway, there are guidelines as to how these rules can be enforced. Law enforcement needs to follow those or be punished like the rest of us.

The thing is... If they don't like the game then they can always just quit. We're not afforded that some luxury.

When I interact with LE I want them to walk as straight of a line as possible. Since I don't advocate better treatment for myself then I do others, as many of you so obviously do, I can't turn a blind eye.

Also... This time he gave a lecture. What about all the other times? All the times to come? He was way to comfortable fabricating probable cause for that to have been his first time and the absolute lack of any real punishment only ensures that it won't be that last. Hope it's not me next time... Hope it's not you...

Lastly... I bet I've dealt with way more POS nurses than you have. Once I began rationalizing their wrong doing then we can re-address that point. Until then it's about as irrelevant as everything else you attempt to base your arguments on.

Actually I do have 2 second cousins who are worthless pieces of trash. I have zero to do with them, and would not attend their funerals if they died in police custody. That's called the way it is with me. They deserve whatever bad comes their way.

So if they were brutally murdered by some psychopath at random, they deserved it because you think they're worthless pieces of trash?

Your logic(or lack of logic) is demonstratably absurd. Just because someone did something wrong doesn't mean they deserve to die. I'm sure you've dont a lot of stuff some would consider wrong. Tomorrow you get killed by a drunk driver, hey, good riddance. You get whatever comes your way. Right?

You have a brain, use it.

Well when you have six cops who, instead of enforcing the law, take a giant dump on it, society tends to want to crucify them. That's also called the way it is.

Yep. A guy with 18 priors and active warrants that ran from the cops should've just been left alone.

It's not about him being left alone, it's about the simple concept that people shouldn't die of spinal injuries while in police custody.

Maybe poor Freddie was just misunderstood.
