Baltimore Unrest

fify

Stereotypes are hard to overcome for some people.

I've had my run in with power hungry cops especially as a younger man. I know they're out there just like every vocation has good and bad. Just can't imagine 50% are bad, though.

I've seen them myself.

Unfortunately, the stereotype application extends to me as well. I'm just as guilty and racist as those six officers in Baltimore.

Not possible since three of the 6 are black and as we all know, blacks can't be racist.

Nope, you had the good sense to retire. lulz

Guilt by association.

This Baltimore situation is a mess which unfortunately won't have a happy ending. I'm calling it right now that no matter what the outcome of that trial is, there will be problems unacceptable to many.

Such is the world in which we live.

Again, this is an opportunity for the cops and LEOs to take the lead on this. You all are the ones where the rubber meets the road.

Cops could certainly band together and take a stand and say, "we don't want to enforce these failed policies any longer. Civilians and LEOs are dying for no reason and we are wasting time and money on this petty garbage when we should be going after real criminals."

I think that would go a long way in changing the minds of policy makers and average people alike regarding the war on drugs. Staying silent on the matter only helps to perpetuate the stupidity and oppression.

That would be refreshing.

I think voter apathy is just as big of an issue as voter ignorance.

For example, Romney or Obama? Is that really choice?

Sure, black versus white. Take race out of the equation in the 2012 elections (which comes back to voter ignorance) and who wins? Who had the better message in 2012? You can call it a lesser of two evils if you want, which is partially true, but overall who had the better record?

But then we'd have cops standing outside of Publix collecting "funds" every damn day.

Then I guess you also know that drug use can weaken bones and the spine’s supporting muscles.

Yeah, I'm sure that's it. He suffered a crushed vertebrae due to drug use.

Like I said, I don't know what happened, but You've got to seriously want to believe a narrative to buy into the excuse he was injured due to drug use and a simple accident.

There is no time or place you can offer to me where flipping off a cop, civilian or POTUS deserves a lecture unless the person doing it is a minor and their parents found out.

Fully decked out cops with "tanks" and "assault rifles" approaching civilians about a finger is totally ridiculous on their part and shows just how petty and potentially trigger happy these clowns can be. Then they add insult to injury with a bogus seatbelt/fellatio charge.

How do u go from talking to the guy to being trigger happy?

If you are willing to ramp up a situation that is on a scale of 1-10 a 3 and ramp it up to an 8 where you've got your cop buddies body armored out and surrounding a curly haired hippy, that shows that they would really step up the intensity if a real situation was actually taking place. These guys showed zero restraint and had no thoughts about disrespecting their uniform going after this guy. If any other employee at a company responded the same way to a customer or Average Joe while in their Starbucks or Wendy's uniform, they would be fired immediately.

If they would band together and not enforce them it would be to simply avoid persecution from the rare chance the crook died. Of course if you were getting beat down, robbed, shot or stabbed by some thugs who's to say they shouldn't just look the other way and not risk it.
