By the way our receivers and DL are just that good. Every team we have played has had some glaring, timely penalties that ha slept them in the game. The refs got that one right. Saban himself blames the team and not the refs. All he said was they could be more consistent. If they were, they would have had more penalties than that. Go Vols!!!

The funny thing is that Bama could have been called for twice the number of penalties. There was egregious holding on their Oline all night.

The bogus PI call in the end zone was a 7 point swing for Bama.

Butt hurt! 16 of the 17 penalties were legit. 1 of ours gave them a TD. That was offensive pass interference and not defense in end zone. They would have been 3 and goal from 27 but wound up with 1st and goal at the 2. Bama fans can GTFO.

Yeah, my wife just showed me a Facebook post of a dude blaming the refs and outright accusing us of paying them off. Says the announcers were constantly complaining about bad calls and no calls. He must have been listening to old Eli and company because I never noticed much complaining on the CBS coverage.
Bama tears flowing and their Sunday filled with complaints over officiating while we bask in the glow of a huge victory.

Alabama is about the 113th ranked team in penalties/gm this season. They get flagged a lot every game. They are an undisciplined team.

The crowd noise certainly was a factor in the Bama false start penalties but man their offensive line got away with some egregious holds. They grabbed and held receivers as well because they couldn’t cover them. In total I though it was a game called fairly for both sides.

A win over Alabama is always a great win even when Tennessee beat Alabama teams with losing records.

When Bama starts to lose multiple games a year, their fanbase will collectively go mad. Gonna be fun to watch.

They got called a lot, but they were valid. There was some missed against UT, but also some missed on Bama.
I actually watched their forum more this game, they complained about refs all game. And apparently they hate Gary as much as we do. I always hate Gary drooling over Bama, but apparently to them he does that for us. I swear it’s like the twilight zone over there. They are apparently the most hated team in the country, and it’s a struggle every week, but yet very cocky

I honestly felt like the refs just finally called a mostly fair game. Alabama just didn’t get away with holding all game. Is that orange tented glasses?

I seen several no calls against UT that would have kept alive/ended drives. Most specifically, the defensive pass interference against us in the end zone. Bama's receiver drug our DB to the ground and then we got flagged for defensive PI. It was a fairly matched officiating game, IMO. Did they whine when they got 15 flags thrown on them against Texas? Probably not, because they won the game! The only reason you're hearing anything about officiating is because they LOST! GBO!!!!!

I would say this is one game the refs did well on the only call I saw that I think they got wrong is the PI on us in the end zone. Well called game. The crowd was the difference in this game for sure. Bama was shook. I mean seriously what was it 18 penalties?

Even Bama Slurper Gary Danielson put his Saban drooling tongue back in his mouth long enough to say Bama got away with a cheap call on that pass interference call in ends zone

Danielson was shockingly neutral for most of this game. I think we fully earned his respect, for whatever that's worth.
