You think Vandy is generating much revenue? Paying Corbs what they do and seeing their meager crowds most games (pre-Covid) I definitely don’t see them turning a profit and likely not even breaking even.

Edit: in 2016 (most recent data for a quick search) 4 SEC teams generated a profit; LSU, AM, Ark and OM. Arkansas and OM were in the $15-20k range.
I think we could be among those teams in a few years if we play our cards right. I think more television exposure is key

You just happened to catch me on a bad day. That said, I have sat through one hell of a damn regular season of baseball and I am a little more than sick of people posting worst case scenarios and saying it’s just dumb luck and telling us baseball fans what we deserve.

These guys earned what they have and they did without a whole lot of financial support, compared to the big three.

Vitello has not asked for a new stadium, he wants to use the space we have more efficiently.
Very well put, 66.

As I said in another post, the players and coaches do not want grass. The players have grown up playing on turf and would choose it every time over grass. The true bounces and ability to play when others can't make it way better. We have had 2 series this year where we played when we would not have been able with grass. Plus the guys love it. I know some traditional guys do not but the next generation love turf.
First two/three months of the season aren’t great for grass I agree with you

No worries 66.
CVT is correct about LNS.
Let’s get through next year at 100% capacity available and see see many sell outs we have. If we sell out 70 or 80% of our weekend series, then by all means, BUILD!! (I will gladly write a nice check designated to LNS expansion.)

We need to do what we can to make this happen if it’s what Vitello wants. We don’t have a lot of space to work with, but I believe we can turn LNS into a pretty nice stadium. If we could commit to the upgrades and give Vitello and his staff decent raises, I think we have a good chance of keeping them around. These renovations would be a nice start. If we continue winning at a high level, we should have the support to move forward with other upgrades from there. Upgrades are something that need to happen regardless of how successful we are. Our stadium is so far behind. If we get started now, it will be easier to keep the coach we have now and to attract quality coaches in the future.

I don’t know about you, but when I watch big time programs like UF, VU, Ole Miss, MSU, Arky...there’s empty seats, lots of them...until it matters.

That is why I said 70/80% sell outs for WEEKENDS.
Until then, there is no need for expansion.

That’s true at all levels of baseball...even MLB.

It’s just the nature of the game and the number of games played.

And, I might add...the income and intelligence of the fan base, example....

Not gonna splurge on Hoover this year, gonna try for a regional instead.

I would bet most season ticket holders don’t attend all 3 games of a weekend series.

Hey guys, the tennis team had a phenomenal season. Should we build them a new tennis stadium?

Umm, we get that SEC Network money no matter the size of our stadium. Non-Sequester.

Again, the head coach said, we don’t have to be the biggest or the best, use the existing foot print and quit parking cars where we could put fans.

I am paraphrasing.

That’s not a big ask.

You got the best lead off guy in the league, best 3rd baseman in college baseball, we finished ahead of VU, 2nd over all and your only series losses are to VU and Arky.

If I had it, and I don’t...would I invest in baseball over football and basketball, interesting question...yeah, upside is baseball. JMO.
