Bearden RB Devrin Young Commits to Tennessee!

The point that you people missed in my post is the fact that Dooley is in over his head and crumpled to pressure from the Bearden HC who told him that he would close UT off from recruiting if he didnt get the offer.

Lame duck indeed.

:eek:lol: Oh my I bout pissed my pants on this. Surely this is sarcasm, either on your part or by God for creating you.

It's obvious to those who have at least one iota of football knowledge. You're the type of fan that listens to Basilio and Rucker all day and cant wait till Big Will calls in to talk about the local "talent."

I am shaking my head at how people make it in this world without getting their head cracked.

You don't think others look at you and think the very same thing? Bless your heart, you sure do try don't you?

Wow! I pray this is sarcasm.

Do anyone see him being a Nilo Silvan or Lucas Taylor type player? Or at least a Brandon James-type return man?

Look, nobody is trying to get into an insult war here. I was speaking of Big Will so I understand if you accidently took offense.

But the fact remains that some fans fail to see the cracks in the foundation. It's obvious. Everytime I see Dooley I see the emperor without clothes. Kiffin was the same way yet nobody saw it. The recruiting is worse than bad. We will be on the level of Wake Forest if Hamilton doesnt make a move yesterday.

The recruiting isn't top notch but there is no coach available (who we have a prayer with) who could possibly recruit top notch players with so much uncertainty at this point. If you want to make a move so bad you have to ask yourself two questions. 1) Who could we possibly hire right now that was a sure upgrade.....name them. 2) How much further back would we set ourselves by making another coaching change at this point. We simply need some stability.

We have no choice but to give Dooley a shot. He has 3 years, by then if there is no significant improvement we look elsewhere.

some like it hot
some like it cold
and some just like to complain.

1) John Gruden - I hear owns land in Knoxville and wont be scared of UAB coaches. Wife is dyed in the wool VOL.

2) Skip Holtz - PROVEN recruiter of diamonds in the rough. Has a winning record at least!

3) Steve Spurrier - longshot, but I think he wants to head up the program at his dream school before he retires.

All three coaches would get our program back on track instead of further into the ditch where it's actually going.

Gruden is not leaving Tampa.

Tennessee is Spurrier's dream school?

I'm not saying that he is going to be THAT good but take a look.....

5'10" 180lb 3* ATH 4.45 40......
Javier Arenas - Yahoo! Sports

5'9" 160lb 3* RB 4.5 40.......
Dexter McCluster - Yahoo! Sports

5'7" 156lb 3* RB 4.5 40.......
Devrin Young - Yahoo! Sports

Brandon James
5'7" 160lb 3* 4.5 40
Brandon James - Yahoo! Sports

(If anyone cares to remember the DAMAGE James did to Tennessee repeatedly--mostly on special teams/returns).

Short term memories. Imagine that.

Gruden is not coming, we sent out feelers and he wasn't interested.

Skip Holtz aren't you already criticizing the current coach for taking a chance on a player? Won't Skip do the same?

Spurrier doesn't have it in him to build another program, he will retire from SC and play golf, hell he's halfway there already.

I may get into high school coaching as it seems they are powerful guys in forcing major college programs to take their players. I had no idea until today.

Is that a picture of you in your avatar? If so, aim a little more to the left

You would be very surprised indeed.

Unfortunately, coaches with backbone do NOT allow this. Tennessee is known for a lack of in state talent, and Fulmer knew it. People think he alientated the high school coaches in this state when he wouldnt give them the time of day but it was because he wasnt SCARED!!!!

my man Nilo could dunk all up in a brotha grill from about anywhere on the court. Unbelievable athlete. Pick up ball with him almost wasn't any fun.

This. If you are going to take a 5'7 kid to only return kicks in this class...I just don't like that. If you think he can contribute at CB or RB, that's fine. But we can't take just a returner in this class. Maybe for 2012/2013, but not 2011.

Give the kid a chance. He gets about 18 yards a carry right now. He can catch, run and he loves the Vols! It appears Harbaugh liked Young as well. GBO!!!
