Bearden RB Devrin Young Commits to Tennessee!

My plan is obvious.

Fire the AD, hire one capable of hiring a proven coach, and if all this guy can recruit is 3* players, turn the stupid page before NSD.

if we have another coaching change in 3 years, 4 and 5 * players wont matter

Yep. We don't deserve either a proven coach or a 5* player.

We should be happy that anyone is willing to wear the orange.

I understand your penchant for breeding mediocrity.

I'm realistic. We already have

Poole JR
Oku Soph
Neal Fr.
Williams R/FR
Toney Fr.

Committed:
Smith

We have room to take a chance on Devrin

Dont sweat the small stuff

So have 4 coaches in 4 years? Which would mean more attrition. Which means we would have about 50 scholarship players. Then we would have to take every 2 and 3 star just to have 85. Good thinking. Edit: I missed this. If its before signing day, lose most of the class and be scrambling to fill one up. Genius.

I am very impressed. He could be a excellent return man.

Yes, Maybe the next Desmond Howard or Billy White Shoes Johnson. It's Obvious all the top programs and talent evaluators in the country think so Too...........

Hire a proven coach with enough time before NSD for him to recruit and you just might get a class like Kiffin had.

Obviously, it can be done. He proved that much at UT.

That's 'folding your arms' as well-defined as it can be.

how is that folding your arms? im not saying dont try and we dont have a chance to get 5* players. what i was trying to say is, for example: saban can tell a player he will contribute in a couple of title games, get a ring, etc. all tennessee can do right now is offer playing as a freshman

Dont you realize the coaching changes is the reason we are in this hole to start with.

You would just make it even deeper. Who would want to coach at a place where you fired a coach, hired one who left before a year, hired one and then fired the AD who hired him, then fired that coach.

Yea, that reeks of stability!!

With the NCAA sniffing around.... That's just brilliant.

May I add Dooley's situation is more difficult because of how Kiffin left it. The schedule this year is tougher than last also.

B. James is a world class sprinter..

I understand this. But we're blindly talking about stars vs. return men here, right?

Yes, after the fact, when he's torn it up as a return man... It's easy to see why

I was basically playing devil's advocate. The return man who has given us the most hell... was a 3 star...

Brilliant. The goal is a stable program chalked full of 2 and 3* players capable of beating UAB in double overtime.

Obviously, you know how to lose.

Honestly, if I'm Devrin Young, I wouldn't want to play in Tennessee's offense. Would be much better utilized in a spread offense, being used in the slot and as an occasional RB, IMO.
