Beer (and beer pics!)

Forgot to mention, I went to Strum Haus here in Chattanooga Saturday. It's craft beer place. They fill growlers and have six packs to go. Their growlers were pretty cheap I thought. Four dollars for the growler and then the fill depends on the beer. I got a brown ale that was eight for the fill. Their mixed six packs were expensive because they charged by the beer as opposed to one charge for the six pack. I was pretty impressed to have something like that here in Chattanooga. If any of you have been to Casual Pint in Knoxville it has a very similar style and feel but the beer selection is smaller. They said they have plans of expanding their selection. I hope this place stays open.

Whatever happened to the tastings they were doing in the parking lot of whole foods in Franklin? I think it was a bicycle group or something?

She didn't enjoy it?

Was a good time. Had a pre-festival tasting over by Yazoo table that was incredible. The Rivertown Pomegranate Lambic in the Whole Foods tent was incredible.

Not really. I think she's done with them. The temps at the last two have turned her off.

you wanted beer pics... This is my favorite from a vacation a year ago. Just a coincidence the way the light hit my koozie!!!!

I thought the All Day IPA is good for what it is...a sessionable IPA. Will be out in cans later. I would have it in my fridge for a lawn mower beer all the time if it was available.

It wasn't that it didn't have enough alcohol. It was thin and they went overboard with floral hops. I thought it was one of the worst tasting IPAs (if you would rather call it that) I've had in a while.

The session IPA fad has definitely yielded some mixed results... If any of you can get your hands on it, try out the 10 Barrel ISA.

I think they overloaded it with floral hops so could more mimic a ipa. I thought it achieved what it wanted. A "light" tasting ipa...and again, I use that term loosely. I have a sixer now. Am I saying I would drink it over a Laguinitas or sweetwater ipa? Probably not, but it certainly would be one in the fridge.

Country Boy makes some awesome beers. So does against the grain in Louisville. I had a collab stout of theirs during Nash craft beer week...it was outstanding

I'm trying to pick a keg for my rehearsal dinner on the 26th. There's going to be a mix of people who love craft stuff and people who drink exclusively crappy adjunct stuff like BL.

I'm thinking Oberon since it's not particularly offensive to anybody. The local shop can get almost anything I want, any other ideas? I might get a half keg of a good trippel for myself and the others who like good stuff if I can.

IMO the half keg of craft and a half keg of BL or something of the like would be the way to go.
