Beer (and beer pics!)

I'm trying to pick a keg for my rehearsal dinner on the 26th. There's going to be a mix of people who love craft stuff and people who drink exclusively crappy adjunct stuff like BL.

I'm thinking Oberon since it's not particularly offensive to anybody. The local shop can get almost anything I want, any other ideas? I might get a half keg of a good trippel for myself and the others who like good stuff if I can.

Is the dinner at a house or something?

Heck yeah man, Oberon is awesome.

I used to love Bell's Amber too but it seems more watered down as of recent. If you get the good stuff though, it's amazing. I don't even know how to describe it honestly. When I first started buying it, it would have this creamy aftertaste I guess you'd call it. It was just something else...

If you like more widely distributed stuff, I like Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and Sam Adams/Blue Moon are solid.

I think Leinenkugels Sunset Wheat tastes like fruity pebbles and Fat Tire tastes like tootsie rolls. Just throwing that out there... lol. So if you like fruity pebbles or tootsie rolls, you might like it. A lot of people love fat tire but I don't know. It's okay.

Playing in a golf tourney that is booze themed. For every 8 beers that a foursome drinks, you get a stroke off of your score. Im sure it will be cheap beer, but I assume I'll be hammered by the end

You got it backwards, the BL is the good stuff.

Sounds like fun. I would need the strokes off my game because I am terrible at golf.

To recover from VolnTitan's shaming, grabbed an old school ale - Curmudgeon by Founders. Made sure they put it in the microwave first to get rid of any frost :birgits_giggle:

This is pretty good stuff. Would get again.

9296 - Ayinger is excellent, USAF would like some of their stuff when he's craving wheat. So proud if you'd have posted a photo of it I'd put it in my wallet next to the family photos. :)

When I entertain non-craft beer visitors I find brown, amber and red ales work well. Not strong hops or wheat tastes but more body than the flavored carbonated water beers. Bell's is an excellent choice.

Was at the saucer in Cordova. Lovely wife behind the beer.

Bud, coors, miller, icehouse, etc etc would be just as well. I guess it's cool to think something is better though when "entertaining".

Anyone in the chatty area going to the Chattanooga craft beer festival on the 20th? It is done by rhinezome productions that produces the enbf and winter warmer here in Nashville. The wife and I are heading down to work as staff. Should be fun.
