Beer (and beer pics!)

Favorites?

Hmmmmm... some of my favorites have been Picture Book and Chief of Chiefs. Honestly though, despite all of the IPAs being fantastic, cloudy NE style IPAs they start to blur together eventually.

Super excited for the DDH w/ Galaxy hops Attention Please that I haven't gotten into yet.

I looked up and saw a Zima in the cooler earlier while at the bar. I got one for the lulz.

Awesome. I had a girlfriend that would be buzzed after one Zima and hammered after two, great for cheap dates. This was during the initial Zima craze when I believe it was made at the old Schlitz brewery in Memphis.

Boneyard Incredible Pulp Pale Ale - I may be influenced by the fact I am really thirsty after a long day and wanted something refreshing, but this is a very tasty Pale. Light, citrusy & refreshing, it is not lasting long in the glass. They just tapped the keg, I think I got the first pour and it is fresh.

I need to get up to Bend this summer to check out the beer scene.

We had lunch at Drake's Brewing and had Covfefe Double IPA and Get Stupid NE style hazy IPA.

Racer 5 at a great dive bar in Oakland where Jack London used to hang. The floor is slanted due to damage from the 1906 earthquake.

And a nightcap of Prairie Ales Birthday Bomb. Damn, this is good.

Yuengling was probably my favorite. Liked Coors Lite too.

Never had Miller Lite or PBR. Not gonna lie, I wanna try a ML just because of that can tho.

Had this at my local Taco Mac recently. If you like peppers, put this one on your list. Pairs perfectly with hotwings

At a small brewery in Berkeley, where I spend too much time, having a Churro Cream Ale and it is actually pretty good. You get the Churro on the nose and little bit in the taste but it is not overwhelming, though half of a pour is enough then on to IPA.

This is my second Cream Ale in the past week, before that I think it has been decades since I had one.

If you like sours then you should check out Urban Artifact. They are out of Cincinnati, and the fruited sours they make have been ridiculous. This one, Fire Iron, is a sour ale made with an in-house strain of lactobacillus and that is brewed with 1500 pounds of pink guava, 500 pounds of banana, and 400 pounds of passion fruit.

So, so good.

A flight at Cellarmaker in San Francisco, one of my favorite Bay Area breweries. Have a Blonde Ale, Saison and a couple of IPAs.

Dinner of champions. Not as hoppy as I thought it would be, but it's super smooth.

Stone RuinTen with vanilla and orange...

I think it's great, but IIIPA purists will fuss at the sweetness. Dangerously drinkable at 11%.

I will be on the lookout for that one.

On a side note, Stone is opening a spot in a very cool historic building in Napa overlooking the river. The building has been vacant for quite some time, they have had various proposals over the years and Stone finally won. Though I would prefer a more local brewery, I know Stone will do a great job with this spot. Their Bistro and gardens at Liberty Station in San Diego is impressive.

I only wish this had opened when I lived in Napa, it is a short beach cruiser ride from my old house.
