Beer (and beer pics!)

Did not know that. That's a shame, they make some tasty beers.

We never had Ballast Point until a few months ago. Constellation Brands bought it in late 2015, which helped with distribution.

The good part is that the more consumers can have access to it when a big brand buys it, but the bad part is that quality usually declines, and "chasing" unique beer can be fun.

Having the Stone Ruinten with Orange Peel & Vanilla on tap. Pretty sure this is the first beer that I have had that reminds me of baby aspirin.

Coedo/Fieldwork collaboration Gattsu Pozu DIPA. This is rather unique and dangerously drinkable. The Japanese wood is subtle and does not overpower the beer.

Mikkeller Windy Hill IPA - subtle citrus with a nice bit of bitterness on the back end. Good summer slammer on this 80 degree heatwave day.

I am at a beer bar in Oakland and Marshawn Lynch is filming something on the streets just outside.

My first post in the beer thread but I couldn't pass it up. I'll try and post more often as I'm lucky to be in NorCal and stumble across a lot of great breweries.

This, however, is not a CA beer but in a New Zealand version of an american style Pale Ale (imported in Petaluma which is just north of San Francisco). I just ran across it in our local grocery store and thought I'd give it a try. Anyway, this is pretty much on point for the style. Nice hops but not so much as to be chasing an IPA (i.e. Sierra Nevada). If you can get your hands on one I'd highly recommend it.

Where do you live in NorCal?

I like most of Wiseacre's beers. Their latest is a "regular IPA" called "Special."
My brother-in-law designed the can, so I've been enjoying more than I usually would. I really do recommend it. Better than the Ananda.

Perfect boat beer in my opinion. Flavorful and easy to drink.
