Bennett eliminates Kentucky

And, even if UT turns out to be better than UK next year, UT will still struggle in the head-to-head games. Just the way it is. I'll be happy to get one win.

Rupp is difficult because UK will have a little more depth in that game, but I feel good about the game at TBA.

Julius Mays has committed to Kentucky, transfer from wright state and will be eligible to play immediately.

Provides some backcourt depth for cals squad.

TBH I felt that he'd probably end up at Purdue, where he's from, but some experience will help.

Seems to be intended to fill in where Doron Lamb left off. Put up good numbers at Wright State....but that's Wright State. We'll see.

Kentucky still looking for one more player in the frontcourt.

Eh if anything he has to be an upgrade over beckham. He's a one year guy, no reason not to take him since they're thin.

Seems like Jefferson has been a nc state or duke lean for a bit now, but who knows. I'm sure UK will get into the recruitment of former va tech committ Harris though. Good post player.

Jefferson expected to choose between nc state and duke tomorrow.

Have to admit I'm a bit surprised cal couldn't pull him or Bennett. Not often you see cal miss on guys he really wants.

I'd like to think that Cal is the reason that he hasn't pulled the trigger on either NCSt or Duke.

That trigger is supposed to be pulled tomorrow, and it's being reported its between duke and nc state.

That's what I was saying. It has been those 2 for awhile, but I really thought after he missed on Bennett that hed be able to pull Jefferson.

I have to think there's a though of being overshadowed at UK that worries some guys. Like Jefferson lets say. I don't know him that we'll, but maybe his goal is one and done. Maybe he feels at duke hell be behind Noel Cauley and even Wiltjer so he may be possibly overshadowed. Just a thought, may not be the reason at all. Ive just kind of been wondering that, cause guys like hood were highly rated and probably would be stars on most teams, instead he's a nobody on UKs roster. I have to think that has an effect on some of those recruits that aren't your top 10-15 recruits, they worry a bit about being overshadowed and then recruited over.

Maybe it's just because I'm a UNC bball fan, but am I the only one who finds NC State's sudden recruiting success more than suspicious? Not only that, but they're apparently also at the top of Julius Randle's list at the moment. Maybe I slept through it, but was Gottfried really that successful at Alabama?

If any team's recruiting success looks suspicious, at least based on location and history, it's the team that was chosen by the guy this thread was about - UNLV.

Fact - and UCLA...I know UCLA has historical significance but that program has been garbage for 20 years (with the exception of Kevin Love)

Hope their ducks are in a row...

What's suspicious? A kid living in Las Vegas choosing the University of Las Vegas? He's friends with half the team and UNLV is the only show in town. With Khem Birch coming in, theyre gonna be pretty sick come tourney time. Besides, if you're a one and doner, would you rather spend a year in Lexington, Gainesville, or Las Vegas?!? Come on man

And now Uconn transfer roscoe smith is looking long and hard at them, believe a visit is upcoming.

They're gonna be pretty good, or atleast could be.

I don't think it's a coincidence that Howland knew he was on his way out and then pulls this class. Maybe it's clean but it definitely looks a bit suspicious. Also, Sean miller at Arizona is doing a "good job" recruiting.

what is suspicious to me is how this spike deviates from UCLA's pattern in the last 20 years without an obvious change...I'm not saying their dirty but people notice spikes like this and that usually draws more than just skepticism.

Howland had them in 3 Final Fours in a row not too long ago with one of them the NCAA runner-up. That's not garbage.

A Kentucky fan questioning another team's recruiting practices without merit is just adorable.

Yeah, I think I exempted the Kevin Love years, more the 20 years before that and the drug induced violence since.

I can't disagree with any of that.

It was my initial reaction when Bennett chose his school; granted, I didn't know he lived in the area. And, I didn't post the reaction at the time. When the other poster questioned the overall success of NCSU, I chimed in with the overall success of UNLV. The only time they've been really good, at least in the past 30 or so years, was Tark's run. It's fair to say it's difficult to win big there within the rules. That said, this year's entire class could be on the up-and-up.
