Best Concerts You've Attended

If I go to a concert I want a show. I went to a DMB concert not to long ago and was very unimpressed. The music was good but I dropped around 200 on four tickets. I want lights, fog, effects, what have you.

The concert that fit the bill was A Perfect Circle concert at Civic in 2004. Lights and Sound were choreographed to perfection. I really can't explain how good that concert was. I got what I paid for.

In no particular order:

Bob Dylan, Radiohead, Ryan Adams.

Foo Fighters also put on a pretty good show.

My list would have to look something like this

1. Dave Matthews Band - 18 times
2. Kings of Leon - 2 times
3. Guster - 5 times
4. Widespread Panic - 3 times

After that it gets to jumbled some of the highlights.

Jack johnson (many times), Maroon 5, Jason Mraz, Ben Harper, Old Crow, Umphrey's, STS9, Pearl Jam, Kiss, Aerosmith, Keller, OAR, Phish, Moe, Alison Kraus, Allman Bros. and many many more!

I love live shows almost as much as TN sporting events!

Sorry but I've seen Dave Matthews 3 times and he blows. If he starts playing I start walking. I appreciate his musicianship but if I want to see a concert I'll pick something else. Just get a cd of Dave and a cardboard cutout and you've pretty much got their show.

I do Bonnaroo every year and I'm married to the poster that brought it up. She's understanding that it's my 4 days a year to be a 40 year old hippie and have a blast. I don't ask for much else really....well, I'd like some twin turbos for the GTO, lol.

i wish i was born in like 1960's so i coulda have seen led zep live. :cray:

I spent 2 and a half months in the 60's. Whatcha wanna know, lol? I was born just a few months after Woodstock (the original....not the '99 redo). I too would love to catch LZ and looked at going to see their show in England but couldn't fund the trip.

Plant & Krauss were tremendous at the roo last year. JPJusually plays a show or two every year there as well. I know it's not Page, Plant & the whole enchilada but at least it's something.

I was at that show. Steve Walsh dressed as a top-heavy woman. Never forget that one...

I have been to several Kid Rock concerts, seen him with Aerosmith, Hank Williams Jr., and Tenacious D. I can live without Tenacious D but all of the others were fantastic.
I recently saw David Allen Coe at a very small venue, we had to stand the whole time but we were right in front of him.

Man this a tuffy.

Kiss 76' was my 1st concert. Front row awesome
Pink Floyd The Wall tour 80' would be my fave.
AC/DC 4 times, best was with Blue Oyster cult with Bon Scott in a small arena in KC.
Kid Rock 5 times, Fave was with DAC in KC.
Front row with Judas Priest in UNeb basketball arena.
Everclear at TBA, blew the doors off Match Box 20. 20 was great but stage presence was lacking.
My list is endless. Just to name a few.

I don't think I can list any shows in order, but some of my favorites over the years:

Bruce Springsteen solo at the Ryman
HORDE in '94 at World's Fair
Warren Haynes Xmas Jam 00
Galactic/String Cheese/moe/Govt Mule at TN Amphitheatre ('99, I think)
Phish/Hampton Hiatus return (not best music but scene was incredible)
Phish at TN Theatre
Phish at the Electric Ballroom
Dave Matthews Band at Flamingos
Drums and Tuba/Les Claypool's Frog Brigade/Galactic at the Tabernacle in ATL
Wilco at Flamingo's
Jeff Tweedy at the Bijou
Disco Biscuits/Umphrey's in Jamaica (really, can't beat this location)

i saw i incubus with the deftones back in 2000. incubus opened and completely blew the deftones away. we actually ended up leaving during their concert because it was so bad.

that was back when they were still playing stuff off s.c.i.e.n.c.e every show.

Kid Rock is a doucher, but I have to admit, he put on one hell of a show at Woodstock '99.

I think I saw that tour as well. If it wasn't that tour, it was another tour where we left in the middle of the deftone's set. They are horrible live.

As did I, they were really talented... too bad Stapp was/is a tool. Saw them in World's Fair Park on their 1st tour.

You should check out Alter Bridge. All of the instrumentalists from Creed, but with a much better singer.

1. Eagles
2. Black Label Society
3. Deftones
4. Mudvayne
5. George Thorogood/Buddy Guy
