Then quit making the argument. The bottom line is that Coleman was going to be the 3rd string qb on a team that doesn't have a qb. And he quit. Bottom line.

He's been evaluated by Fulmer, Cutcliffe, Clawson, and Kiffin...all offensive-minded coaches...and he never rose above Crompton on the depth chart.

But, I do agree with you that this is a ridiculous argument.

Calling a guy that quit a team a quitter is a little more polite than the insults I've seen hurled at UT's starting QB for the last 13 months. Where's your indignation there?

The fact remains that most, if not all the UT fans I've talked to believe Coleman leaving hurt UT more than it hurt himself. Your team is a laughable 2-3 with one of the worst QBs to come around in a LONG time. That said, your stubborn coach refuses to make any changes. Your "opinion" is that of the minority referenced with the entire stadium boo'ing after every third down and Crompton. Is it worth sticking to your word and staying with Crompton even if it ultimately ruins your season?

Coleman competed directly with Crompton...couldn't beat him out. Neither can Stephens.

Why is it so hard for you cretins to comprehend that Crompton, though awful, is the least-awful quarterback at Tennessee?

I recall a good number of UF posters on this site wanting Tim Tebow to be the starter for UF in 2006, not just early in the season, but days before the BCS Championship. I guess fans always know better than the coach.

They were in the minority, let me assure you. And the difference there is that UF was 12-1 while UT is 2-3. Are you saying that the coaching staff shouldn't make a change? Can you really handle winning 2 games out of 5?

Minority or majority is immaterial. If the could have made UT better, he would be playing here. He couldn't, hence isn't.

Throwing his stats from glorified HS play doesn't change that. Crompton and Lamaison had similar stats at that level.

Montario Hardesty has proven to the coaches he's our #1 back. Do you think he should just ride the pine if he struggles to pick up yards against UGA? That would be just making a change for the hell of it. If you know one guy is better, you focus on making him as good as possible.
