BJ Coleman and the Mocs (merged)

I don't have anything against Eric Berry. I just have yet to see anything that indicates he's the combination of Deion Sanders, Ronnie Lott, Night Train Lane, and Christ that everyone else says he is.

Cool. If Monte says EB is a top 10 pick does he see something you might not or do you think he's blowing a little smoke?

That should be the slogan for Crappanooga: "We're not stupid, it's the rest of the world that's nuts." They could also use: "Chattanooga: We're Tennesseans because Georgia won't have us." Another possibility: "Chattanooga: Our football icons are a whacked out religious nut and a washout QB. We Rule!" Also: "Chattanooga: Where logic and reason go to die."

What the **** is your problem? I mean, you just reduced Reggie White to a whacked out religious nut. Come on, hat. You're better than that.

All evidence to the contrary. But it did just make me realize who it is he reminds me of!! :eek:lol: Thank you!!!

Only calling him a whacked out religious nut leaves out the fact he was a malingering do nothing for the first three and a half years he was at UT. Thus, I was actually elevating him.

I'm glad he played at UT, but I've heard he didn't really have a great career at UT except for his last season.

Being a top 10 NFL pick doesn't make you some sort of transcendent player. Tony Mandarich, Alex Smith, David Carr, Antone Davis,...

What a shock. A fawning report about their idiot prince from the Chattanooga media. Hope they enjoy covering him leading the Mocs to 2 wins this season.

How about this source?

What does Coleman's departure do to QB race? GoVolsXtra

the coaches didn't want him to start because they thought they could land Heaps or Scroggins, it was a gamble that looks like it didn't pay off unless Crompton can play better than he has shown.

Coleman would have made no difference. He's horrible. That's why he's now playing at a farce of a program in the FCS instead of for somebody of repute in the FBS. You didn't see his benefactor Cutcliffe rushing to bring him to Duke, did you?

Yeah, Aaron Corp and Matt Barkley didn't scare Scroggins, but FCS scrub BJ Coleman would have. The level of delusion exhibited by the Chattanooga crowd is worthy of mandatory mass mental facility attendance.

It has already been pointed out that those numbers were against the 2nd string defense while Coleman’s numbers were against the 1st string. Hardly proof that he had a better spring.

The part about, “the coaches did not want him to start because they thought…..”, is total BS. The Coaches have said and proven they will play the best person at every position.

So because there are busts, that downgrades Berry's worth or ability?

As much as you respect this staff I would think you would value what Monte and Lane say about Berry's ability.

I'm missing how saying I've seen nothing that indicates that the folks in Canton should go ahead and cast a bust for Berry qualifies as disrespect.

I've never seen you say that. You said you saw nothing historical about him. I said owning an all-time NCAA record is historical.

So, the Timmy Changs of the world are "historical?" Really high standard you set there.

What standard is that?

Is Chang the best? No. Is he historical? Of course.

If I said EB was the best ever I could see your point.

Roger Maris wasn't as good a player as Babe Ruth or Mantle but it doesn't diminish(McGwire, Bonds and Selig did) the single-season home run record.

And yes, I still consider it Roger's record.

Was it attending an also-ran law school (I'm guessing UT but you definitely have Nashville night school potential) or having to experience a mediocre football the last several years that's made you the bitter human you are? Knoxville is so void of development talent and imagination they had to import a former Chattanooga mayor to redesign what attempted to pass for a downtown.

I find it interesting that your verbiage matches verbatim the drivel that has been coming from the Colemanite Clan. I am glad to see that they have found a home with our rivals.

I'm not bitter at all. I just enjoy ridiculing the Confederacy loving dunces that inhabit Hamilton County. I love when Chattanoogans babble about their "downtown." I've lived in real cities. In comparison, Chattanooga is the equivalent of a real nice rest area. Actually, Chattanooga may actually be more pathetic than Nashville. At least there are some meaningful events, like NFL games, that occur there. Chattanooga's claim to fame is a welfare version of Sea World. Bravo, Chattanooga, bravo.

You put your finger on it. You do remind me of Ignatius J. Reilly. Here's what the NYT had to say about the town. 36 Hours in Chattanooga - NYTimes.com Apparently they enjoyed much more than you.

All I am saying is after putting up those numbers, why was
Coleman not given at least a chance during spring with the 1st team offense. I mean it's not like Crompton was lighting it up and there was nothing to worry about. BJ was playing well so why wouldn't you give him a shot at it in SPRING just to see what the kid's got. Don't you find it at all suspicious that they didn't even give him any reps despite Crompton struggling and him playing well.

You read a couple of articles. Clearly you're fully informed of the situation.

The thing about you is you perceive "different" to be "wrong". Most people love downtown because they don't have to worry about getting stabbed or mugged, and not because it's big and there's tons of venues but because it's beautiful. Especially at night.

Outside of Memphis, all three cities a pretty much worthless, and I'd still rather not "live" there because I like being able to walk a mile without getting stabbed or mugged.

And our claim to fame is an out of date, out of operation railroad station, if you're gonna be a prick at least be on point.
