As long as Auburn and Duke are ahead of us they’ll get Greenville
If the top six didn’t all lose yesterday, one wonders if Auburn would’ve crowded into the 2 line with Duke. If Duke holds in the top 8, they get that region. No way they’ll send coach K somewhere else in his last year. It’s too good for ratings to have them
I’m NC.

Yea, our overall efficiency went up, UCLA passed us up but we closed the gap overall to teams ahead of us.

I'd like to see us have a good week offensively and get that AdjO number back near (or in) the Top 30 before tournament play. Feels like teams that make Final Four runs often have AdjO numbers a bit higher than ours. But, I also wonder how often those teams play the sheer number of strong defenses we faced this year.

It all boils down to winning out Regular Season which would put us in a position for a 2 or 3 Seed in the SEC Tourney.
An Auburn loss could put us in as a great position and a Regular Season Co Championship

Two wins in the tourney would help the Seeding.
NCAA Tourney Seeding will all come down to the Committee and for once With wins above a 2 Seed is for the taking.

Our Resume is built and with above add ons can only get better.

A Better called game yesterday and we have a 10 pt win easily.....

Yesterday we won a game and we need to learn how to win Ugly. CRB knows how to win Ugly Games.

Regardless I think we hold the 3 Seed and the committee will recognize the body of work this team has accomplished over the entire season.

We’re tied w Duke in 7th based on the average of the team sheet rankings. I think we’re definitely in 2-seed territory
Beat Arky and win 2 in SEC, seems we’re a 2. Less than that, we revert to 3 or even 4. It was very strange to hear Dykes say “This team is a 4, maybe even a 3. On paper (today) we’re a strong case for a 2. For whatever reason, we’re always perceived as a notch down from what we’re actually achieving.

Dykes has been oddly low on this team this year. He's been preaching for months that this team has "4-seed" potential, even when we were already solidly a 4-seed. In general, this team has been undervalued by just about everyone because we aren't too flashy.

In regards to the scenarios you lay out, I think if we win out the regular season we're a lock for a 3-seed no matter what happens in the SECT. I can't see us falling back to the 4-seed line if we were to close out the year at 23-7 and end on yet another Top-15 win.

texas is likely to be a 4 seed if they get to semis in Big 12 tourney. Can’t remember a year like this where all of our losses came on the road and to likely only 4 seeds or better in the tourney.
You think Bama and LSU make 4 seeds? I doubt both do. One might, likely Bama.

LSU won't be a 4-seed. That ship has sailed. Well, I guess they might have a shot if they won the SEC Tournament, but still no guarantee. The SEC isn't going to get more than 4 Top-16 seeds and right now those 4 are pretty firm (Auburn, UK, TN, Arky).

We need a Quad 1 win or two off our home court. Now we might get one from Colorado as their 78th but I think getting one in the SEC tournament will be important. So to have a shot at a 2 we need to beat UGA and Arkansas, which we should, and I think at least make the SEC tournament final.

I think it’s only because we have no Q1 wins away from home.

Agreed. LSU seems more like a 6 or 7.

Jimmy Dykes is an Arkansas Homer.....and it really comes down to next weeks game and the tournament. I would not expect him to say anything else positive about UTK.....Is opinion is Meaningless, unless he sits on the Committee....You can't do anything about these types except ignore.....Even if Tennessee wins next week he will be saying the same thing 3 or 4 seed.

Yea usually it’s Top 25 in both, I will say though 2 things…

1. Our offense the last month is probably Top 25, it was middle of the season that drug that number down to near 60 at one point…so we are probably better offensively than that ranking may suggest.

2. Teams that make the F4 or make a run in the tourney are playing well, thus continuing to move their numbers up usually. So we theoretically could go in at 35 and if you make a run still climb into Top 25.

Both good points. Tennessee on February 27th is not the same Tennessee team from early January. We're hot at the right time for perhaps the first time in the Rick Barnes era. I just hope that can result in some March success for once.

The talking heads were all wrong about us when the committee revealed their top 16. Dykes doesn’t know what he’s talking about. We’re easily a 3 at the moment. And we’ve put some distance between us and other teams on the 4 line.

UNC was a Q1 away from home, so was Mississippi State and so was Vanderbilt.

I really scratch my heads sometimes listening to the talking heads how out of touch they are with something that is so simple and easy to find.

I agree. Hard to know if it’s bias or ignorance, but it spans the ESPN ecosystem. It isn’t just Dykes.
