Bracketmatrix 2021-22

On the brightside, for the 1st I can remember we have a KY problem. So many of my 54 years I have heard ky fans complain about being a 1,2 or 3 seed. I didn't understand. now I do.

Would be ridiculous and cements the idea that conference tournaments do not matter
The last time 2 teams from the same conference got 1 seeds was all the way back in… 2021 (Illinois and Michigan).
happened in 2019 with Duke and Virginia too.

If we win tomorrow, I don’t see how we can’t be seeded the highest SEC seed. Doubt that will get us to a one seed more likely a 2. Wish we hadn’t of dropped a couple of those close losses earlier in the season but it was to be expected considering the number of freshmen we were playing.

If they would stop looking at where they previously had them and looked at actual resumes, we should be in conversation for a 1 seed and not a 3. All the media does is move people up and down from the precious week, but never the actual data. Ever since we beat Auburn, no one really moved us up much for some reason and it keeps happening after every big win. Anyone else beats a top 5 team and they skyrocket
They all said we needed a marquee win away from home. We got it and now they say it doesn’t matter. I call BS on that. We shall see tomorrow!

I’ve drunkenly decided to get triggered over this tonight. Tennessee should be a 1 seed. Look at the resumes and victories over those above us. No reason for us to not be in contention for the last 1 seed. I’m dying on this hill.
Every good decision started with those exact words! I like it!

All you folks believing that a 2 is already locked up are - sadly - dreaming. I know no one wants to hear this but other than SI, no other bracket matrix has the VOLS as a 2 seed at the moment. And of course I'm sure the SI projection is assuming an SEC tourney win. I think SI also has us in the South (Greenville?) against Jax St. then Boise St if we advance. People, be prepared to be put in as a 3 somewhere far away. The blue-bloods get favored as usual. I know it won't seem right, but just don't be shocked. Our best course is to focus on trying to win this damned title tomorrow and let the rest take care of itself. I want that Conf. Title!

How many bracket matrixes are there?

I’ve felt for years now that all this talk about NET rankings and Q wins is total BS. Every year numerous things happen in seeding or who gets in that makes no sense. This Selection of teams still feel subjective and arbitrary to me.

Let’s assume for a moment Duke and Purdue both lose and we win. I’m still not sure we get a 2. Like, Duke will just get it because they are Duke. And while we should jump Kentucky, I’ll just have to see it to believe.

We should also jump Auburn but they lost 2 less games, so at least it’s somewhat defensible. UK is unarguable, if they end up ahead of us it is just nonsense.

Here is the thing. All these brackets from the “experts” don’t mean poop, but I have seen quite a few that had us as a two, some even before today. We were too 16 weeks ago before we even beat Auburn. We have only one loss since the top 16 was released so i don’t see how we are not a 2

Yeah but why are considering the Big 12 better than the SEC overall, top to bottom we compare very well

One thing that may be important to factor in is that SEC gained strength significantly over the last week or two in the NET which is probably one of the most important metrics for the selection committee.

Vanderbilt becoming a Q1 win for the road and A&M becoming a Q1 win for Neutral victories happened only this week. So that is going to help us, Auburn, and probably UK too in updates.

I mean we were 6-7 in Q1 like a week ago and could be 11-7 if we win tomorrow so I think some of this is just an oversight based on presuming UT's resume could only improve a certain degree in the best case scenario.

Now we are in the best case scenario and the beneficiary of an SEC that looks even stronger than it did a week ago.

Still I think people like Lunardi have to take some blame in not reacting quick to this.
