Brad Stevens

Give him as much money as it takes.

Rename the Sunsphere the Bradsphere.

Let him become governor for life when he retires from bball.

Make every male child in the state of TN 3 and under be renamed Brad if we have to.

I don't care. Get him here.

We all know Butler does not have talent to win all these games, so it has to be the coaching thats winning them games.

Why leave that program where he is the hottest thing in the NCAA to come to UT and face the unknown? True money talks but its a pipe dream...my prediction is he will be the head coach at IU in 2-3 yrs at this pace. Still hoping for Lawrence Frank myself...

You respect his tourney run as soon as the buzzer goes off on his last game you send someone to make him say no.

People on here are actually complaining about his recruiting abilities. His teams will NOT quit under any circumstances. I would rather have that than a team full of all world athletes who fold up at the first sign of adversity.

i have no idea if its been said because i didnt read everything (way too much chilidish nonsense to filter through in every thread here it seems) but after today Brad Stevens WILL leave Butler for someplace. his stock will never ever be any higher than it will be after the tourney ends. im not saying that he's coming to knoxville, but our chances improved with his win today.im not even sure he'd be my top choice, but he'd be a huge hire on the PR front

I'm not sold on him being the IU coach that soon. Tom Crean is a pretty good coach and the fanbase is infatuated with him. Purdue seems like a more likely destination to me.

With the uncertainties surrounding UT & the NCAA I think the only way we can get a coach like Brad Stevens is to offer him minimum $3 million per yr...... But I think UT should offer right at $4 mill per yr based on all the uncertainties at UT (Plus we need to offer to pay whatever his buyout would be from Butler). You also have to give performance raises obviously & I think regardless of how he does to start out, I think he shouldn't be "graded" until yr 2 or 3, depending on NCAA sanctions & whether or not if certain players come back or decide to declare. I'd also like to think somewhere in his contract it would say if at anytime current AD Hamilton is released or whatever, incoming AD can't fire him for atleast some period of time. Basically I'm thinking Hamilton could & most likely will be out within the next yr or so, and if by chance UT isn't doing as well as some would like, new incoming AD couldn't just give the axe to Stevens. Hope it makes sense.

Thoughts?

Not even sure UT has even tried talking to him....Or if they are even pursuing him...Wouldn't surprise me if they aren't....UT never seems to go for the home run....Hope they do as Stevens is my #1 choice but I think hell has a better chance of freezing over before they go after him....But We can always hope.

Ask him what he wants, and give him a half million more. I am sold

Unless Hat or LWS know differently, or there has otherwise been a significant change in the Committee's thought process (Read: metanoia not seen since the road to Damascus) - 0.00000000000% chance.

But the few people I know are mostly drunkards who are liars - but they've consistently called it not only implausible, but impossible.

Maybe someone else knows more, and can shed a more favorable light on it, but I cannot.

If he isn't the best coach in America, he is 1b

I agree 100%....I say go after him balls to the wall and pay him what he wants.....He clearly stands out heads above the other candidates We have been looking at.

Someone said that he was the #1 target......but Wright was #2....and we know how quickly that call went.

I agree, but I can dream

They can go for him, but he strikes me as someone who's waiting for a ready-made situation that he can walk into. Either that or a team that's almost there. His stock has never been higher and he's turned Butler into a force that will continue to win as long as he's there. There's no rush for him to get out while the getting's good. I bet he's got a short list of schools that he's willing to coach for and unless we're one of those schools or willing to grossly overpay for his services, we're SOL.
