Breaking news: LSU to face Alabama in National Championship Game

doesn't matter since they won their BCS conf. They deserve a shot more than bama and LSU deserves better than a rematch too

So you don't think the two best teams in division 1 should get to play for the the NC because they are in the same conference. Even though you admit UA is better then OSU.

Facebook and Twitter sure blew up over this.

I hate the BCS as much as anyone but they got this right.

Oklahoma State lost their shot to play for the title when they lost to Iowa State. If they had an OT loss to somebody like KState instead, I think they'd have more of a case, but they don't compare.

And I will be clear on this: I actually DO think Oklahoma State played a tougher overall schedule. Their wins are as good as any of Alabama's, and they have more quality wins. I honestly don't think the SEC was very good outside of the two NCG participants this year. I also think the NCG should only be open to conference champions, in which case it would have been LSU and OK St.

But the ISU lost sealed it when Bama's only loss is OT to the #1 team in the country.

What this boils down to is LSU and Bama have already played, and it was decided in Tuscaloosa. So why are we watching it again? If Bama wins, it means nothing.

LSU should get half the championship by default tomorrow morning. If they beat bama for the title (again) in 4 weeks they get the other half. If not, we split the title this year. The only thing a Bama win does is show both teams split the two meetings they played. This game will say absolutely nothing, nada, zilch about who the best team in the nation is this year.

and #1 gets screwed. Basically bama gets rewarded for losing while LSU gets screwed for even playing bama. THe NC semi-finals were played in the GA dome yesterday and bama wasn't there

How does number 1 get screwed? Is it because everyone knows that Bama will probably win that game... If that is the consensus, then bama deserves to be in the game. If not, how does the number 1 team get screwed?

Huh?

Everyone knows that OSU is better than ISU, right? Then they deserve a re-match to finally settle it. Right?

This is all baloney. LSU and Bama have played. Bama lost. End of story. Why the confusion?

Gotta agree with a few posters. One less game I'll be watching this season. I would like the outcome to be LSU rolling the bummers. I think Okie State Vs LSU would be a great game. Don't look for the BCS to go away. It brings in way too much money in it's current format. I could see a little restructuring in the future, but it ain't goin' nowhere. I would like to see the SOS have more weight like it used to.

I think we all knew this was the only outcome, gotta suck to be OSU

LSU-Alabama, the sequel - CBSSports.com

Merge if needed.

They got it right, IMHO. Bama's only loss, by 3, was to LSU. OK St. got beat by a 6-6 Iowa St. team. I know they may have had some understandable emotions in that game, but you have to use that as a positive and play for the victims. LSU and Bama are the two best teams in college football. And as much as we all don't want to see a rematch as the NC game, it's the right thing to do, again, IMHO. :hi:

Wrong. If the 11/5 game is decided before OT and by more than 3 points, the loser would have fallen further than Bama fell which would have prevented the re-match. The system presented the re-match because LSU and Bama are the best twot teams in college football this year, and it's a significant step down to the #3 team.

I'll agree to disagree with ya. The BCS basically said that resumes and the Nov. 5 game were irrelevant.

Ridiculous. This game has already been played this year. LSU has also played an extra game. Should be OSU vs. LSU. If LSU were to lose I hope they raise hell. This is complete Butter Scotch. I find it absurd that a team could be crowned NC without even winning their conference.
