Bruce Pearl Left Toilet Bowl Full Of Turds As A Parting Gift

Anyone think that Bruce was going to win with this team, if he had stayed?

Bruce wouldn't have this team i he were still here though. Maybe... just maybe Tobias would have stayed another year.

Pearl could have rolled out with the baseball team and beaten Austin Peay.

...I like CCM, but our team isn't this bad. These guys are much higher rated recruits than what Martin is slated to bring in.

It's just going to take time and patience....

Tobias wasn't turning down first round money to come back for Pearl. That would've been stupid. Tobias is most definitely not stupid.

I'm a martin and pearl fan, but it's amazing how Dooley and pearl get crucified and martin gets excuses made for him

Pearl deserves all the blame he gets (and he really doesn't get enough). Dooley has had two years and our team hasn't shown very much progress. Still, most haven't given up on him yet. Martin has coached 9 games with a SOCON-level roster.

Are you suggesting that Martin should shoulder more of the blame for this than the person who constructed this putrid roster, and turned UT basketball into a PR nightmare?

If he's a man, yes. He needs to take ownership and responsibility of this team.

Bruce Pearl was successful in his short run at UT, but he left a toilet bowl of turds as a parting gift to UT and new coach, Cuonzo Martin.

This team is a selfish team that refuses to help one another and is full of individuals who worry about their own points.

Our guard play is awful and our big men play timid.

I will be surprised if we win four more games this season.

Thanks for the toilet bowl full of turds Bruce.

You are so right.

Eh, it's Martins first year and he was a proven winner at Missouri St. while Dooley wasn't a proven winner at La Tech. Cuonzo went 11-20 his first year then went 24-12 the next. Dooley went 5-7 this year. Cuonzo gets more of an excuse than Dooley.

Are we gonna debate this after every loss? Cause there's gonna be plenty my brethren.

Dooley took over a team that was in a bad mess. Basketball has 12 players. Football has what 85 on scollys? If you know football then you know it takes longer to fix a problem in football. Our football team is getting there.

Other than McRae, Richardson, and Maymon, I just don't see any SEC players on this team right now.

And when Martin took over he had seven scholarship players.

Can we give him more than nine games? Please?

I think CDD is getting it turned around, too, but with the way this year turned out, it's understandable that some are doubtful.

CCM inherited a mess too. Like Dooley, he deserves time.

If we are playing like this after two years of Martin, then we can rightfully complain.

I just can't believe nine games into a tenure of a BASKETBALL COACH, and he is getting crucified.

Actually, sadly, I can believe it.

I hope (and think) he will. But I just don't believe CCM is any more culpable than Pearl.

I don't think this team is as bad as it plays. I really think Martin can do things with this team. Just not seeing it with the bad loses. This team lost to Memphis by 2 in OT. That's acceptable to me. Great effort. Same with the 10 point loss to Duke and the 5 point loss to Pitt. Those are losses, yes, but look at the potential this team has by coming that close to greatness. There's a key somewhere that Martin isn't turning. Not sure what it is but if he finds it, we might be in for a good ride.

Quite simply, he has zero point guard. Other than the lapses defensively, and the horrible, atrocious PG, this team has done a pretty decent job.

Cuonzo Martin i s doing all that he can do in trying to make chicken salad out of this mess. He should not be given any grief for the job he has done.

It reminds me a lot of Dooley's first year. He doesn't have the horses.

Bruce Pearl would be 4-5 with this team right now.

Pearl lied about a damn cookout, it's not like he had a recruit over and was snorting blow off a stripper...Pearl was great! Dooley inherited the players on a MWC level.

I'll say this. These kids on our team are good kids and are not turds. I used the visual reference as a metaphor. Most people are smart enough to understand that.

My statement was made out of frustration, but as good as these kids are, they are not SEC contending level players. Bruce left the cupboard bare. That is a fact.
