Bruce Pearl Left Toilet Bowl Full Of Turds As A Parting Gift

Yeah because you can really make judgments about his recruiting based on a class he was forced to throw together in a matter of weeks to avoid going into the season with 7 scholarship players.

Look who martin has offered for the future.

He does that where you're supposed to do it: in practice. Just because you don't see him chewing ass on game day doesn't mean he doesn't care.

If he cared he would make adjustments during the game
instead of the same ole, same ole. Truth is he has no idea how to coach this team.

so no blame on the players for their lack of hustle, discipline and heart since the coaches didn't bring it out of them? I think I got it

When they were playing to potential in Hawaii Martin got due credit. The last two games when they look like they've never practiced together he gets the blame. Got it?

Need to ask the BBall experts, which is it, our players have no buisness on a SEC roster or is it coaching? I watched the first half last night and they didn't look bad. I hate the offense they were running, whatever happened to working the ball down low into the paint?

He appears to be a very passive in-game coach. I hope he has a comfortable chair since he spends most of the game sitting in it.

What I find funny is 2 weeks ago after close games with Memphis and Duke talent was not an issue and Martin was the next John Wooden.

Now after 2 losses it is all Pearls fault. What happened?

I was hoping basketball would not go the route of football but looks like it will.

Don't you remember how much Golden had progressed in the off-season, and how it's so awesome to have a point guard as a head coach because he can really develop 'em...

That said, I think Martin can get it turned around, hopefully we land Stokes. It will make it so much better.

Pearl deserves all the blame he gets (and he really doesn't get enough). Dooley has had two years and our team hasn't shown very much progress. Still, most haven't given up on him yet. Martin has coached 9 games with a SOCON-level roster.

So you are impressed with our winless record against the
southern conference.

The same ones who trash trae are the same ones that after the first game were screaming about what a great
job martin did coaching him up. You have a certain mentality on this board who will not admit that we messed up letting Bruce go. We should have eaten the sanctions and then we would be back in the tourney.
Maybe the powers that be played it right since we did not get hammered by the AA. I thought it kind of strange
that a major booster and contributor would give Bruce a
job for three years to keep him in town until the show
cause expires. He will be back. BOOK IT

He got a 3 year show cause, bro.

Are you actually suggesting we keep him through that?

I love the fact that he can't argue this.

argue what? It appears the gameplan has changed since those games and I don't understand it. I'm also not sure the teams we played or the UT team was actually as good as we saw in Maui. I've questioned the coaching but saying things like the hustle, discipline and heart are all 100% on the coach is ridiculous. This team was never going to be very good to begin with and people mistakenly adjusted their preseason expectations after the first few games

but to be fair to CCM the "look like they've never practiced together" part is a holdover from the last staff too

We will not go to post season play anyhow. I hate that
Bruce screwed up, it happens. I think the UTK heads played it right. No more sanctions, give Bruce a living to
keep him in Knoxville and when the show cause has expired, bring him back.

Difference between this staff and last staff is we won a lot more with the old staff.(even if they looked like they hadn't practice together)

Are you saying you did not change your outlook on the season after the first few games?

It's a common theme around here.

We beat the **** out of a Big East team and Dooley and Chaney are genius. We lose to Kentucky and tyler had the flu, someone was injured, the underclassmen didn't care, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.

and they had more talent to work with but still had some really bad losses. Take the best players off a team full of average role players and this is what you're left with

Are you saying you did not change your outlook on the season after the first few games?

I don't think I did. Just like I didn't burn anything when we lost to Indy in preseason a while back. This season was going to be tough no matter what

I agree I refuse to bash CM at this point but I also refuse to blame the previous coach. CM has been on campus for 8 months now and should know the talent he has and how to scheme accordingly.

CM needs this year to get his players in here and then we will see what he can do then.

Not true..the current starters on this team are much more highly regarded coming out of high school than even the 2005 team - check it out. We won't know if they progress as well as Watson, Lofton or JaJuan for year or two.

Bruce Pearl was successful in his short run at UT, but he left a toilet bowl of turds as a parting gift to UT and new coach, Cuonzo Martin.

This team is a selfish team that refuses to help one another and is full of individuals who worry about their own points.

Our guard play is awful and our big men play timid.

I will be surprised if we win four more games this season.

Thanks for the toilet bowl full of turds Bruce.

This is the most ignorant post that I have ever seen on this board.

If high school rankings meant jack then Fulmer would still be our coach. There isn't a Lofton or J. Smith on this team.

I am talking about last year's team since it's the most relevant

Just disputing the fact that Martin has a bunch of scrubs, because nothing is further from the truth. And there is no way you can tell at this point whether there is a Lofton or Smith on this team at this point, ignorant statement. Most of the team are underclassmen, so for all we know McRae(who shows a lot of promise) could end up in the NBA 3 years from now.
