Bruce Pearl Left Toilet Bowl Full Of Turds As A Parting Gift

I'll say this. These kids on our team are good kids and are not turds. I used the visual reference as a metaphor. Most people are smart enough to understand that.

My statement was made out of frustration, but as good as these kids are, they are not SEC contending level players. Bruce left the cupboard bare. That is a fact.

You are a bowl of turds.

The shriners circus I went to a couple months ago. Clowns everywhere. Then they show the bench and the coaches and it was like an episode of the three stooges. I really think Coach Martin orders popcorn and watches the game like the rest of us. Not vocal at all... doesn't appear to advocate for the team against the refs. Almost fell asleep. Kevin Oneal x2 imo (minus the winning).

Who do you all think is the biggest clown? Tatum? Golden? Woolridge? Martin?

Gonna be a loooooooooong next three years.

You didn't have Martin listed.:)

This thread is stupid, the 5 starters for UT were ranked 104 or better in their respective years per rivals. Schemes have a big deal to do with the teams success and defensively we are awful. This is as much to do with coaching as it is players. Martin says that defense is all effort, so I guess he is not getting effort from his players..that is his fault.

At least Pearl gave us a few year break from being terrible. Looks like we're right back to Buzz Peterson caliber basketball

The bolded part is the most ignorant thing that I have ever read on Volnation.

Other than McRae, Richardson, and Maymon, I just don't see any SEC players on this team right now.

I'm not sold on Maymon. I think he is going to be overmatched in the post once SEC play starts. He either doesn't get off the floor fast enough or doesn't have much explosion but for a guy as strong as he is and able to dunk in transition he doesn't get much elevation from a standing start.

Pearl deserves all the blame he gets (and he really doesn't get enough). Dooley has had two years and our team hasn't shown very much progress. Still, most haven't given up on him yet. Martin has coached 9 games with a SOCON-level roster.[/QUOTE/]

Pearl lied about a damn cookout, it's not like he had a recruit over and was snorting blow off a stripper...Pearl was great! Dooley inherited the players on a MWC level.

Pearl did way more than lie about a cookout. I am surprised people still believe this is all there was to it.

What I find funny is 2 weeks ago after close games with Memphis and Duke talent was not an issue and Martin was the next John Wooden.

Now after 2 losses it is all Pearls fault. What happened?

I was hoping basketball would not go the route of football but looks like it will.

This team was picked 11th in the SEC for a reason: because the alleged great recruiter Bronzer Bruce left behind the 11th most talented team in the SEC.

Yea your right sgm. It does not have anything to do with two guys who left for the nba "early" who led the team in scoring last year. It also does not have anything to do with a crap class that Martin put together(not entirely his fault). So, if Harris and Hopson stay where does that put Tennessee on the talent board? 3rd-5th in the sec, I think we can agree on that.

Yea it is funny how that happens around here more often than not. People on this board are like B***** in heat, they hop on anything that looks good right now. They don't wait to see how it will pan out or what will happen when you get in the grind of college basketball. They like it now because it looks good against teams that are supposed to be good, but have not really been tested yet. (AKA DUKE/Memphis)

I was as big of a Bruce Pearl fan as anyone, but the fact is that he left our program in worse shape than when he took it over. This is not Cuonzo Martin's fault.

This may not be a final four roster, but it's damn sure a better roster than AP or CoC put on the floor. To blame the players for the performance in the last two games is ridiculous. The coaching in the last two games has been some of the worst from a hustle, discipline, and heart persepctive I've seen in a long time in Knoxville.

Not sure if you noticed, but Dave Hart had a front row seat to the foolishness last night.

so hustle, discipline and heart are not attributes of a player?

They are, but it's the coach's job to get it working on the floor. Clearly that's not happening.

so no blame on the players for their lack of hustle, discipline and heart since the coaches didn't bring it out of them? I think I got it
