Bruce Pearl Suspended

Kiffin would have great success here (and with Tyler at QB, it would be scary to think what the offense could be), and right now the verdict on Dooley is out. But it's still looks bad for MH.

Let me slow it down for you pumpkin. I said paying competitive wages is not the ONLY thing that will bring taleted personnel to UT. Is that greaty enough for you?

I like you challenging my intellegence right after you either misspelled greatly, or aren't smart enough to proof read your own work. You choose.

LOL.... pot meet kettle

The good news about the suspension is the part where Bruce isn't coaching isn't too hard. I can see 5-3/6-2 (not including the UConn game).

I'm not challenging your intelligence. I'm stating you're just another Pearl fluffing sheep whose basketball acumen couldn't fill a thimble.

Here's an easy exercise for the Bruce Pearl Hallelujah Choir. Go look up all the guys in Bruce Pearl's salary range in college basetball. Then, see how many of them you can say with a straight face wouldn't be successful at Tennessee. It'll be instructive.

Kiffin owns many of you. Here we are in a thread about an unprecendented conference suspension to our head basketball coach and all you people can talk about is Kiffin.

I am a Pearl supported. No arguement. Although I will be the first to say fire him if the NCAA hits us hard. However, I think the best thing for UT is for him to stay.

On 104.5 this week Pearl told Clay and gang that the contract is in the hands of UT General Counsel and has been for 3+ weeks.
Because Pearl and Co. sent it back with proposed modifications. The General Counsel has made it clear to them the document as he drafted it is what is to be signed. As usual, Pearl is playing word games to try and cast himself in a better light than he deserves.

Careful, I already brought this up and my hearing and/or comprehension was called into question.

There you go again thinking you know more than you do.

Bruce has zero bargaining power at this point. I hope he never signs.

Weren't you the one talking about proofreading?

You are right. No one can say they wouldn't be. OTOH, no one can guarantee they would be.

The writing is all over the wall that Mike Hamilton is on his way out. Sucks, but when you are in a job that is that high profile in TN and everyone, including boosters, can play armchair QB, it's just obvious he is a lame duck AD at this point.

I'm willing to bet my life that Coach K, Roy Williams, Bill Self, Tom Izzo, and Jay Wright would succeed here.

I respect that position. I disagree, but understand it. What I'm not going to sit here and let go unchallenged is the idea that hiring the Houstons and Greens of the world on the cheap somehow indicates UT will fail to find a competent coach when they are paying a top 10 percent salary.

This is embarrassing and defeating. I kind of feel like I did when Meeks went off for 54 points and both were Pearl's fault.
