Bryan Harsin Fired

I genuinely can't think of a good reason for Kiffin to take that job. He can have a lifetime contract at Ole Miss if he averages 8 wins.

Recruiting will be easier, but I agree overall. Winning 8-10 games a year (sometimes more) and not being judged on whether or not you beat Bama every year is a pretty sweet deal.

Agree, but I don't think his pride can take it.

This might be the dumbest thing posted in a long time. Kentucky fans are delusional if they think Auburn is a better job than UT.
Flame away, but Auburn and Tennessee are very comparable jobs. Auburn might actually have a marginally larger talent pool based on proximity to good recruiting areas, but not enough to make any kind of real difference. They've also been way more successful than Tennessee has been over the last 10-15 years.

At the moment though, Auburn does have a completely dysfunctional leadership group that renders the job much less attractive than it should be. You could have said that same thing about us for a long time as well though. If they make the right hire, and that's a huge if, they are very competitive again in no more than a couple of years probably. They have always been a very inconsistent program with the lowest of lows soon followed by the highest of highs.

No doubt Kiffen has already called his movers. Still a cut below where he sees himself, i.e. the legacy programs, Texas, Bama, Ohio State, etc. often times schools that haven't won it all for a while, but still get huge media and have the amount of cash every coach dreams of, but Kiffen wants the media. Cant tamp down that narcissism. Even Auburn is just another step on the way back.

Absolutely can't stand the fact he's a great coach.

That was my point. They’re on a level playing field as far as jobs at best, definitely not better.

Didn’t liberty just sign him to a massive extension through 2030??

I can assure the buyout that Liberty has in place is nothing to Auburn who’s paying 30-40 million for guys not to be their coach

Bc he knows he will never win a championship at Ole Miss.

On the flip side, he could prolly use Auburn to get a pay raise to $10 million. That’s a 33% increase. I find it hard to believe that if he wins 10 games in back to back seasons at Ole Miss, they wouldn’t pony up the money. Getting $10 milly a year at a program that has an all time win percentage less than 60% is cushy job. But as someone said, Kiffin’s drive may negate it and he wants to job and pressure. I will be shocked at the end of the day if he jumps to auburn.

Take solace in knowing that a great coach could win a championship at Ole Miss. Saban, for example, could probably win a championship at Ole Miss. Jon Vaught actually did, so we do know that a great coach can win a championship there. But the consensus here is that Kiffin should look at Auburn because he won’t ever be able to win a championship at Ole Miss. When you can get THIS group to subconsciously admit that he isn’t actually a great coach, then you have your proof that he actually isn’t.
