You seriously are skeptical the SEC has far superior defenses to the Pac-10? ... If the NFL followed your logic, the league would be filled with NAIA players.
Yes. I am skeptical of it. It depends on which team, which year, etc. But, I won't get too far into that since it's getting off topic.
How in hell does this thread continue to turn into an SEC vs PAC 10 or Oregon vs UT debate even though it's been repeatedly said for it not to?
I think it naturally goes there because Brown himself is debating teams that happen to be in the SEC and Pac-10. I have tried to make my comments only as they relate to Brown. But, have at times responded to others making the more versus type of arguments you're referring to. I'll try to ignore those in this thread.
Wheaton, You are the gay guy in a redneck bar ordering milk.
In all my years of going to bars, etc. I can't say that I've encountered any gay guys ordering milk at a redneck bar. You'll have to tell me about that some time. But, not in pm please. I feel like I need you to approach me in a public place on that one. Kinda scary.
He started it. Not trying to run Wheaton off, but he is stating his opinion why Oregon is a good choice for him. And us UT fans are stating our case.
Exactly. I think we agree that this is on-topic and the purpose of public forums.
No, that isn't what's happening. There's no way that debate can take up as many pages as this has. It's become an Oregon/UT comparison thread and it's asinine. If it's not directly related to Bryce Brown, I think you should make a new topic and argue about it there.
It was one page of on-topic where-Brown-fits-best discussion and then 2-3 pages of discussion about what is on-topic. But, anyway, I agree. I'm not really interested in the whole Pac-10 vs SEC thing. It's a tired old subject. But, I (and I believe others here) are interested in where Brown will go and the reasons for why he will choose one place over another. Whether or not it's better for Brown to play in the Pac-10 or SEC is on-topic.
I find it remarkable that your ip addresses have not been banned. You have contributed nothing to this thread.
Speak for yourself. There are others here who do believe that I have contributed and are interested in civil, non-homer perspectives.
Someone do make a thread about it. I would love to debate Weaton on this topic.
Send me a PM and we can take it up from there if it's not Brown-related.
What I would like to know is what is considered off topic? If this thread is strickly for information purposes only, nobody should reply when someone posts information period. For no reason at all. I know that some of these threads get way out in left field, and they shouldn't. But discussing the pros and cons of BB going to UT or Oregon, or any other school is on topic in my opinion.
Exactly.
And, we've pissed all over Wheaton' s arguments (note, this is not attacking the person)... so we've won that too ;-).

lol:

lol: Go Vols! Get BB! btw... 24 posts to the 5K mark!
I think you may have pissed all over your self. But, that's another topic...
