Judging by how often you refer to me when I'm not around posting, I would say that you definitely are my biggest fan. If you send me a SASE I'll have my staff send you a nice letter and free sticker.

Thank you for the kind offer. Would that arrive on Nike stationary, by chance?

Btw... I don't think Nike really wants any association between their brand and Butler. That would be a disaster for the brand. That's probably why Oregon considered pulling the scholarship offer.

And, of course, Nike can still sponsor BB when he goes to the league after he adds a few trophies to his case as a Vol. The time at UT will only serve to remove any unwanted negative perceptions concerning the association between Butler and Brown. At the same time, he'll get far more publicity while on the Hill than he would anywhere else he's ever considered.

Therefore, it's simply good brand strategy, but I'm sure the Nike folks know that.

But your also talking about a team that went 5-7, and lost to Wyoming last year. I dont think Bryce is set on UT, as you would say. He has stated he wants to play around GOOD O-Lineman.. GOOD being the key word. Last time i checked out O-Line doesnt look too promising after this year, unless we have some real surprises. Also with a big question mark at QB, the pressure will be put big time on BB, and he may not want to see 8 or 9 in the box all the time..

Not trying to be negative, but this isnt a lock to be a Vol. I hope he picks UT, but there are a lot of signs that say he might not.

Those are the more legitimate concerns.

But, my hope is that our O-line proves the problems were more related to the scheme (as widely rumored) than to their ability. That was supposed to be one of the strongest components of our team last year. They're basically a year older and will have had a much better S&C coach while sporting a chip on their shoulders this off season.

As for the QB, we've got to run the ball a lot better to give him any chance. Kiffin's confidence in them is extraordinary. You have to weight that evaluation (positive enough to tell a 4* AA co-MVP player he didn't fit) against the train wreck we witnessed last season. CLK has a good history with the USC QB's. This staff and the QB's need one another based on these histories.

YEah the Oline was definately a huge disappointment. I hope the schemes were what was wrong, and they flourish in Kiffins system. I know BB could be a vital part of the QB situation being fixed to an extent. It would sure take a lot of pressure off our passing game. I think Kiffins assessment of the team is a lot better then mine, and i trust that what hes doing will make the vols a SEC contender again.

The buzz here in Seoul is Brown is all Vol. Kiffin brings the energy he is seeking and he is pumped about the 1-2 punch with Oku.

The only "buzz" in Seoul is buzz you get off of the heroin that comes from there.

On topic though, our line is going to play well this year. The problem isn't talent on the line...it's just plain bodies, or lack there of. The staff is addressing that as we speak. I also think that Douglas is going to make a heck of a tackle and contribute a lot, if not start. We'll be alright this year. The concern is next year, but I believe we'll bring in a Juco/prep or two to help out immediately.

It seems we have to go Juco for a couple next year, but my guess is they sign some great Frosh who'll be ready the following year. We got one big ugly this year who should help in due time as well.

Think about the exposure for the program if the #1 prospect picks UT. This thing has to be on TV somewhere. Next year's class will be sick.

I highly doubt that BB would be the only person getting the ball were he to choose UT. Don't underestimate the quanity of talent we have that sat on the sidelines the past two years.

If BB wants to win championships, awards, and make it to the league, Tennessee will be the smart choice. Sorry Wheaton, but UO has put one maybe two backs in the NFL in the past 15 years, while TN claims at least 6. When's the last time the Ducks won the Pac-10? I honestly can't remember.

Seoul is the capital of South Korea.

Interestingly enough, in Korea, the word Chachi translates to "penis". Because of this, the first episode of the show, "Joanie Loves Chachi" was the highest rated American television broadcast in the country's history.

Now, to keep this post on topic, Bryce Brown.

They are one of my clients. So, I could probably arrange that, actually.

That's probably why Oregon considered pulling the scholarship offer.

Oregon never considered pulling the offer.

Oregon has put 6 backs in the NFL during that time. Not "one maybe two." (Stewart, Smith, Morris, Droughns, Whittle, Philyaw). They are about to put another one in this year (Johnson) and barring something unexpected, another next year (Blount). That will be 8 total, 3 of which being under the current Oregon staff. While the last RB UT sent was Cedric Houston, 4 years ago, in the 6th round.

When Arian Foster was a freshman. He'll be our 7th this year. Riggs is the only RB to graduate between then and now.

I haven't been participating in that argument and I'm not gonna start now. There's plenty to like about Oregon, I just think distance and the lure of playing in the SEC will keep Brown closer to home.

Yeah...I forgot about O. Smith...where did he transfer from? For smokin dope. Maurice Morris is a guy I forgot about, he was decent. The other guys just don't have well known names...across the nation that is. Arian Foster will be drafted this year and he's been the starter since Houston left, so there were no backs to draft.

Tennessee backs drafted since '95
Cedric Houston RB 6 182 Jets
Troy Fleming RB 6 191 Titans
Traphis Stephens RB 4 119 Bucs
Travis Henry RB 2 58 Bills
Jamal Lewis RB 1 5 Ravens
James Stewart 1 19 Jaguars
**Shawn Bryson - undrafted - Lions

However, the fact remains that UT is known as a conduit to get to the pros in all positions. With the new staff, that wont change.

Total Vols in pros
47
Total Ducks
29

Oregon's a great school. I like it...there's just no comparison, thus far, when it comes to putting kids in the league.
