how many free games are they allowed to scedule? they could probably get more than just 1 "big game" on their schedule each season
After watching this game, If they win out I wouldn't mind them playing for the NC. Do I think they are as deep as a SEC or PAC 10 team and could handle the grind of a BCS conference? No, not really, but they also can take WAC level players and give anyone in the country a game as well. They're well coached, disciplined, and a tough football team.
I would pick BSU over Arkansas outright, and as I said, Petersen is ten times the coach Miles is.The week in and week out grind of the SEC schedule would eventually wear on them. Aside from obvious losses to UF and Bama who are simply superior teams talent wise, UGA, Arkansas and LSU could likely take them as well.
Not right now due to inexperience, but I think Thomas will be better than Masoli by seasons end.Technically you are correct.
But BSU has 20 starters back from a team that beat OU pretty soundly.
Has OU significantly upgraded? Don't know but Massoli is gone and it's hard to imagine the new guy is better.
I said at least 50/50, implying better than that against most teams. That's the thing. Most national title contenders would have odds considerably better than that.
Don't be an idiot. If every team doesn't have a chance to win a championship, then it really isn't a sport but rather a pageant.
Ohio State would have a better chance to beat LSU or Georgia? Not so sure.
And to be consistent, do you see Ohio State winning many SEC championships?
I don't.
Either join a BCS conference or just be out of luck. Why does everyone try to act like its some sort of manifest destiny that Boise should get a shot at the NC? If you spend 90% of your season playing teams that are in the bottom third of D-1 you don't deserve to play for a championship, simple as that.
Not many, but certainly more than Boise would. OSU could probably play Tennessee's schedule and come through with a couple losses. I can't see Boise playing Oregon, Florida, LSU, Georgia, Alabama, and South Carolina in a span like Tennessee and escaping with less than 3 losses.Ohio State would have a better chance to beat LSU or Georgia? Not so sure.
And to be consistent, do you see Ohio State winning many SEC championships?

50-4 over the last 4 years, two BCS bowl wins, legit victories over top ranked teams, 29 straight regular season wins...I think if they go undefeated AGAIN this year they have proved themselves worthy. Too much fuss is made over their schedule. If that isn't enough to earn them a shot because they play in a weak conference then Division I CFB is a sham. We might as well have 4 power conferences with 30 teams in each one.
I agree with bleed's statement above, and dont call me an idiot. I got my opinion and you got yours, but thats no reason to resort to childish name calling!
If this were an 8 or 16 team playoff system, I would have no problem with Boise being included. I have absolutely no doubt that they would be put firmly back in their place if they were forced to play top competition for several games in a row.
However, the purpose of the BCS is to pit the 2 best teams in the nation against one another. Surely no one in their right mind is really going to try to make the argument that Boise is one of those teams. Thereby, they don't belong in the BCSNCG.
