BSU VS VT Time: 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 6, FedEx Field (91,704),

I'm excited for the OSU and BSU game. I can't wait to see how they play without having an extended amount of time to put into the game. Petersen can game plan with the best of them and always has his players in position to be successful

How in the world does 4-5 good victories in the past 4 years warrant a shot at a NC? Even if they lose a game this year, Bama will have 4-5 good wins THIS SEASON.

Because they have proved they can do it with the schedule they have. Saying they don't get a shot because they play in a weak conference is begging the question why they should even field a team in the first place.

They've played one SEC school in the last 9 years and lost by 30+

Personally, I'd be all right if they didn't...

Yea, whats the last 4 years got to do with this season?

Everything if you are bringing up how hard the SEC is year in and year out.

I'm not saying BSU won't get whipped in a NCG, I am saying they have earned the shot if they run the table this year.

Also, it has something to do with the high preseason ranking they got this year.

If this were an 8 or 16 team playoff system, I would have no problem with Boise being included. I have absolutely no doubt that they would be put firmly back in their place if they were forced to play top competition for several games in a row.

However, the purpose of the BCS is to pit the 2 best teams in the nation against one another. Surely no one in their right mind is really going to try to make the argument that Boise is one of those teams. Thereby, they don't belong in the BCSNCG.
What if the Pac 10, Big Ten, Big XII and SEC all produce one and two loss teams at best? And Boise is undefeated?

You still say that no matter what, Boise is NOT one of the best two teams in the country at the end of the season?

Something is wrong when a program like Boise State could theoretically win every game they play for years on end and never have the shot to be called the best in that division.

I fear the BCS is too much of a behemoth to move, but hopefully Boise going undefeated will affect some change whether or not they play for the NCG.

I didnt say anything about year in and year out. I said week in and week out.

Only the following teams should be able to play in the championship:

Arkansas, Alabama, auburn, tennessee, Georgia, Florida, s Carolina, vandy, Kentucky, Georgia, lsu, ole miss or miss state.

If Auburn winning the SEC and missing out didn't do anything, Boise State winning some conference most Americans can't name isn't going to either.

It really comes down to the integrity of the game and NCAA football, imo. It's just not right.

I didn't call you an idiot. I just advised against being one.

It's a stupid argument, because all they can do is win the games on their schedule. And they are. If you don't like it, complain about the BCS system, not the team.

Don't hate the playa, hate the game.

That's where the idiot thing is coming from. Understand the bigger picture.

If they ever want to truly be taken seriously, then their AD needs to be proactive in getting them into a BCS conference. Teams are moving around all over the place, but you didn't see Boise stepping up to the plate trying to bite off a real challenge did you? No, they took the easy way out and barely upped the ante by going to the MWC.

They're happy in this little niche that they've carved out being the underdog that gets to whine each year when they get left out of the NCG. Now they've parlayed that whining into a rediculously high preseason ranking, and college football will now lose what tiny bit of credibility it had left if they are allowed to play for a BCSNC.

well also remember that Boise and TCU take up 5 and 7 respectively, as well.

based on their schedules, both seem quite likely to go undefeated. You probably need to factor that into this also...because if the big guys all produce 1 loss teams, the 5 teams above those two would have fallen as well

Maybe. I don't hate the school or anything, I just think they get more credit than they deserve.

Why, because they aren't a traditional team? because they aren't from the South or Midwest? Because it challenges your preconceived notions on what makes a good football team?

Well, look at the preseason ranking that makes all of this discussion relevant. I would say their performance on the field over the last 4-5 years have something to do with it.

Good call.:)

Because they've accomplished far less than people give them credit for. I agree that they're doing all that's being asked of them, but it doesn't change the fact that about 10 other teams could do it.
