I will rejoice if Jon Gruden gets hired. I am not convinced he will or more to the point Hart and or Cheek will muck it up.

Davis could hit the ground running. If JG doesn't come would fans support BD?

I think so.....He is a proven head coach and a proven winner...He plays the style of football UT fans like so yes I think he would be embraced here.

Right now my list goes like this:

1. Davis, because I really do think he would bring us back to greatness and is the safest bet in my book as far as Defense, Recruiting, and would put together a killer staff

2. Gruden, because I don't want to be let down....would be the ultimate with his love for the vols and history, would instantly give us a top 5 recruiting base every year and again a great staff.

3. Strong, can recruit, defense, I think it gives recruits a new vibe at tennessee

I am on the Gruden train. Just hanging on the caboose so I can jump if there is a train wreck.

Ainge said all the top 3 he has heard included experience at Head Coaching and Offensive Coordinator. If he is right then Butch fits the bill and Smart does not. I'm having a hard time believing we're not getting trolled on the Gruden deal.

I don't know if it is trolling. It is almost too good to be true and that raises flags for me.

What if Gruden was hired as HC and Butch as DC? Butch comes in holds down the fort while Chuckie finishes out MNF.
