You are mis-remembering. He had about 16 players ineligible for the bowl and his 5th string rb ran all over us.

UNC had the most players taken in the draft in Davis's last year there, but they were 8-5 and should have been 7-6 if not for the botched calls at the end. He can get players, just not win big with them.

Lots of them were suspended for most of the season, so not really fair to say that.

I guess LSU needs to fire Les Miles following that logic. Not to mention the large number of players who weren't eligible for that game. I guess Butch Jones cant coach since he lost to Dooley.
Dooley was a frogs hair from beating Spurrier, Miles and a few others. He didn't.

hes sketchy, but honestly, IMO anyone who can do what he did with a HORRID UNC program would be a better choice than some that we have hired in the past *cough cough Dooley*

Alot of places think Davis is the hire if Gruden is a no go. Anyone know for a fact if Hart is still on the 5PM Friday deadline with Gruden and him making a decision?

What exactly did he do with UNC other than recruit a bunch of good players and never get above .500 in the ACC? The ACC . The ACC. Let that sink in. Butch is not a good gameday coach. Period.

Butch would have us very competitive by his second year here. We would be playing defense, and running the ball. No doubt about it.

Dooley was evidence of Butch Davis light IMO. Davis would do slightly better but he'd be routinely beat and out recruited by UGA & Bammer. If UT wants to live in that world, I'm out until they decide they want to compete for NCs again.

I am guessing year one. It makes a hell of a difference when the defense knows where to line up.

I thought I'd comeback after hearing the damn Vegas odds of Butch being the most likely guy to be our next head coach. I figured I might need to straighten some of you guys out that think Butch is the answer to our problems. He's not.

I don't care for Golden,Strong,Jones or Fedora. None of those guys are the answer.

If something happened that we didn't Gruden (which I think we will BTW), and we miss on other top tier candidates, I would be completely fine with Davis or Petrino.

I would take either one of those two over people like Golden and Fedora.
