Butch Jones needs to own this!!!!!!!!!!

If this staff is ready to give up that easily and throw away this season (and God forbid next one as well) and think they can hide behind excuses about Dooley's players (who beat them when they were in Cincy by the way) forever, then they are hopelessly delusional (no way the fans will stand for that).

Or you know they could not be from the Fast Food Instant gratification generation and instead of throwing the Freshmen to the wolves, they may not think they're ready for primetime yet either and want to get them a full year of S&C and have them come out next year looking confident and not throw them under a bus in a season we all knew was going to be rough...but I guess Building for the future and not killing a kid's confidence is a little too much for you to handle.

EDIT: Dooley also had a better roster to work with when he played Cincy than Butch does now. Butch's Roster is terribly depleted. We knew it would be going into this season...

I do not want to hear him say how good South Alabama was!!! No more BS Butch.....get results!!!

So you're asking for blood out of a turnip? Are you the guy that puts pin strips and wheels on a Ford Escort and expects it to run faster? Go back to sleep dummy.

Peyton was thrown to the wolves his freshman season and turned out ok. Dobbs is supposed to be "cerebral" player like Peyton, no? He should certainly do fine and experienced offensive line should help him (if this staff actually knew how to coach and use them - I wish we had Chaney and Pittman here to work with those guys).

Forever? They are 5 games into their first season and 3-2. Most non-delusional fans knew this is where we would be at this point in the season.

Do you honestly believe that any coach really gives a rat's ass what the fans think? They get paid to do a job, not cater to what the fans want.

Look, I'm not happy (I'm sure you won't find many that are) with the way they are playing (and in the locker room the coaches aren't either I can assure you) and this team is really tough to watch right now, but we got the win today, so enjoy it. It'll be the last you see for at least a month.

The talent level that peyton had to work with compared to the talent level Dobbs or Fergie would have to work with is enough reason to hold on the redshirt.

Did you watch the game today? Our OL was pushed around by a JUCO team all day long and have been all season. Over rated by a mile!

You're right. None of it has anything to do with a new offensive system that is completely different from what every single one of them has been playing in for the past 3-4 years.

I don't care about the record that much right now. What bothers me is that we have looked really bad in 2 games we lost (UF tried to give us that game but we would not take it). And we also looked really bad today. So that is last 3 games of looking really bad and while coaches may not care about what fans think the AD could not have missed all those empty seats today (after all the CBJ gets it hysteria during the off season it's way to early to have that many empty seats - so AD and coaches should all be worried already - if not they are delusional.

The gameplan was good. The execution very poor. Worleys two picks cost us a minimum of 10 points. It should have been 41-7 at one point. As for USAs comeback, I'll be honest I can't comment. We were up 31-7 and looking decent, I figured that we would pour it on and blow them out so I ran some errands. I came back and we were only up by 14. Can someone fill in? Did the staff think the game was over and start testing some goofy plays or something?

I agree with the OP on this.

So far Butch has done as much throwing under the bus as did Dooley. Even if we do in fact have a severe depth and talent gap (we do), the head coach has ABSOLUTELY NO business saying so in every press conference. In public, he should take the blame. These guys go to battle for the leader, and then he channels his inner Dooley and talks about execution? Infallible plans? Maturation process? His press conferences have ALL sounded more like self-promotion than leader of a football team.

You win the games you're supposed to win. So far we've done that. That hasn't always been the case these past three years....

It's looked very ugly at times, but a win is a win. Hardly any of us predicted we'd be 4-0 at this point, so I'm wondering why so many are surprised and/or pissed.

I feel like this is redundant, but I'll say it again: New coaching staff, new offensive & defensive systems, not an SEC-caliber roster overall, rough schedule. How many teams are actually dealing with this??

Also, people overlook the fact that it's not just the players that have to adapt to the system. The coaching staff has to adapt their systems to both the players they have and what will work against SEC defenses. If you think they don't have somewhat of a learning curve as well, you're living in fantasy land.

All the reasons above are why I'm staying faithful and patient. While it's ugly, I do see constant improvement each week. I expected ups and downs, but as I've always heard, if you stick with it and stay positive, it gets greater later!

WE. WILL. BE. FINE!!! GBO!!

Nobody predicted we'd be 4-0 after 5 games. I'm sure of it.

I agree. This was clearly on the coaches. For the first time, I actually wouldn't be surprised to see 8 loses. Our team was out-coached, luckily we had the talent to make up for the coaching.

So you think Butch threw those two crucial interceptions no let's make it three crucial interceptions the score should have been 45 to 7 after the first seeies of the third quarter ....come on man get real

You are delusional if you think that the UT athletic department has the money to find another coach. They operated in a deficit last year and are still paying Dooley and Fulmer on top of CBJ. Ride it out, dude. It's not going to get any worse at least.

umm what? No. That's not what a coach should do and I would hardly call what he does "throwing under the bus." He's calling the team out as a whole. You, however, won't hear him bash Worley and call worley out. That's throwing someone under the bus. He does what a coach should do. Point out where the team is weak (which with this team, it might be shorter to list their strengths unfortunately) and say you're gonna work on it. Just saying "HERP DERP ITS ALL MAH FAULT I IS A BAD COACH!!!111!!" Isn't going to fix anything.

No but Butch kept the QB who kept making those mistakes in the game too long instead of pulling him (same as last week where poor Peterman had to break his hand to finally get replaced).

I had no expectations coming into this season and really don't have any for next year either, but if they're still playing like this after year 3, then let the search begin again. I hope that's not the case, but time will tell.

As for all the CBJ "gets it" hysteria, that comes from fans that are willing to hang their hats on words and the promise of what he was able to do in two other weaker conferences. I'm not fully sold on this staff, but I'm willing to give them a chance. They have at least killed it in recruiting up to this point. Now I pray that they can hold onto the 14 class.

all he has is bs right now.

I told you guys about 8 months ago, that bUTch was saying the right things because he knows it will take a long time to turn this program around. In the mean while, he can't lose the fan base and have them give up on him.
So, he says all of the things that he thinks will endear them.

He is just buying time with his words until he gets it turned around.

Given enough time, he will turn it around. The 2014 & 2015 recruiting classes should get us headed in the right direction.
