Buy out the Oregon game now!

You suggesting everyone travel to Eugene? True fans will, right?

No, he's suggesting that UT offer money to the Ducks to not play the game. Not gonna happen. If it did, it would be a very, very expensive undertaking. And I doubt the NCAA would allow it.

First, the previous poster was being sarcastic. Second, I don't believe the NCAA can do anything about it. OOC games are contracts and agreements between the two schools, and they can each decide if they want to agree to a buyout. Third, UT is never scared to play a game, and that is shown by its history. We will travel and play, so bring on the Ducks. There are other SEC schools (who will go nameless) who would never schedule these series. Bring on Oklahoma in 2014 and Nebraska in 2016.

A great test of the new coach, IMO.

Unless magic occurs, I'm expecting a pretty ugly game. Here's where we find out if CBJ can motivate against horrendous odds.

I want to see a coaching staff that can get our team to keep its heads up and not give up. I don't ever want to see anything like some of the pitiful shows we had last season.

Tuck Fhat idea! I will be in Eugene for the game also Missouri!! Bring Em On, GBO!!

It's one game! Tennessee scheduled it and Tennessee should play it. If we lose, so be it but you never get the chance to upset someone if you buy out all the games you might lose. We have enough cupcakes on our schedule already. Beating another nobody doesn't impress anyone including recruits.

As a new vol I think you have to play the game. Yes Oregon has been very good in the past and have good players returning. But you can only measure yourself against the best. Everyone know how the last 5 seasons have gone on the hill. As a coach you see where you measure up and where you are lacking. Recruits want to play for teams that are going to compete against everyone. Not just the also rans. Everyone may be surprised at the outcome. GBO!!

so you think UT with a 5-7 record this yr can pull off a miracle and make the NC game next season?? LMFAO!!! i just dont see it happening any time soon!!!!!

LMNFAO!!! Not any where close to the point I was making! Thanks though. LMNFAO!!!

If Notre Dame played our schedule they would be very lucky to be 6 and 6 this year!

Notre Dame played a tougher schedule this year than they did last year. Who thought they would have made the improvements they did and go undefeated?

Maybe UT should become a school like Chattanooga and play traditional powerhouses on the road just for the "gate money". It could be a way for Cheek to get a return on his investment and build the cofers back up.

Now i know you're about to say "Were Tennessee we dont back down! We will play anybody!"

But lets be honest Were not winning a championship next year, It will be an auto loss, Next years goal needs to be to get to a bowl game.

And with this schedule, Were not guaranteed to win 5 games.

Auburn will be alot better under Malzahn.

Missour will be better.

Vandy will be good (Despite what alot of UT fans wanna think)

Hell Western Kentucky is not a 100% win IMO

Theres a CHANCE we lose 8 games for the first time EVER.

Call me what you want but for the best interest in this program we need to buy out this game.

Yeah then we can just let every Freshman withdraw from Western Civ. and English 101 next fall because you know those are hard classes. Dude if I were on the football team I couldn't wait to go to Eugene and I bet if you polled the team and staff to a man that's what they would say. There is something worse than lossing and that's QUITTING!:machgun::mf_surrender:

Agreed ten fold. I'd be willing to bet the team wants to play that game.

Only the weak want to quit. To buyout this game would be such garbage.

You cannot achieve greatness by running from a challenge.

I am probably one of the few diehard Vol fans who watched every ND game this year. In fact, I attended two of them, because my significant other is an ND grad.

With that perspective, I think Notre Dame would not have gone 6-6 with our schedule. In fact, the only game they may have lost with our schedule would possibly be Alabama (and I guess we'll find that out in a few weeks). It has been interesting to see the turnaround in the Irish program. I would love to see that happen for the Vols.
