'18 CA QB JT Shrout (UT signee)

Transferring makes no since at this point for QD, unless he wants to play at a lower level TOM BRADY did not play a Michigan. Starting or Back up, all he has to do is blow it away at the NFL PRO DAY and Combine.

Brady threw 618 passes for 4644 yards and a 30/16 TD/INT ratio in his JR/SR season.

The last comment about not letting it be an emotional decision makes me think he could be leaning towards the good guys. Hope so.

Yep. Sounds like he was ready to pull the trigger and dad talked him into giving it some more thought just to be sure he wasn’t making a rash decision.

Him taking this visit after being committed to Cal for so long is pretty telling.

I think we get him.

Sage advice from the Pops. Prolly needs to do the pluses minuses breakdowns.

Am I the only one that sees such stories as theft?

Literally only one media person has this story.
Why do others have the right to get clicks by using that story. Maybe I am wrong

I used to have a roomate who went to UCSD, took him to a game against Fresno State. BTW some of the nicest fans you'll ever meet - they were in awe - as was he at how much money we've spent on athletics. The same sentiment was echoed during Cal game.

Acc to my old buddy, it just isnt as big of a deal out there.

Of course i had to hear about how USC and cal would whoops us.

Idk that the UF game would have been that different with JG vs QD, tbh. John Kelly was the only reason we were in that game. QD had one nice TD pass, but he also threw 3 INTs. And that was when the OL still had all their starters.

I think the QB competition hurt both of the QBs last year in different ways. QD knew he had the job because he was the safe choice, so he played super tight and conservative (though he still had too many TOs). JG knew he had to make splash plays to take the job as a starter, so he often held on to the ball forever looking to hit a home run.

It will be interesting to see how it plays out this spring. I have a feeling both QD and JG won't be around next fall.

I’m a JG fan, but let’s be fair to QD regarding that Florida game. He had 2 sure td passes dropped....and 1 interception for sure, and probably 2 (the pick 6 was thrown high but Callaway got both hands on the ball) wasn’t his fault. He very easily could’ve finished that game with 3 td passes and 1 pick rather than the other way around.

The pick six was his fault the others you mentioned were not. If his WR actually runs the slant route it's not picked in the redzone. However the throw to Callaway could have been seen from space. He stared him down and all but yelled and put neon signs up stating where he was throwing. He did the same thing vs UGA. The UGA throw was when I truly realized our QBs weren't being developed at all. I saw signs but that was the biggest one.

Sets feet pretty well has great pocket presence. Moves very well to avoid sack and extend play a little baker Mayfieldish has alot to prove but alot of upside...appears to be just as mobile as Jarrett maybe more....

Seems like he should be on pace to be a grad transfer. He EE'd, has done a lot of summer mini terms, and is majoring in recreation/sports management.

I like sjt and think he’s a smart dude, but he spent the prior four years doing the same analysis about how Josh Dobbs was the weak link on offense...

Well okay then. Hopefully he’s just an under the radar guy who will be a big time player here

He didn't even complete his first game until this year and he threw for 3,000 yards and like 26 touchdowns! I never say this, but I believe he is a diamond in the rough. I didn't even say that about Sutton! JMO

eh, HS competition. and his o line sucked...look at how many roll outs they had to put him on.

not knocking the guy. i think you get him here, RS, and develop. he has the measurables and the arm.

definite take for us right now not knowing what the future holds.

Nope. Said that Dobbs wasn't an accurate passer. That he was "wild in the strike zone".

In retrospect, I may have underestimated how badly Jones and his system inhibited Dobbs' development as a passer.

Dobbs was one of the best leaders and runners at the QB position the SEC has ever seen. Great guy.
