'18 CA QB JT Shrout (UT signee)

Butchna understood what I meant lol. I'm counting this year as his 3rd year and him having 2 more after.

That certainly helps with yer narrative saying it like he's already had 3 years when he just started his 3rd year. And saying he has 2 left when he has 3 full seasons left and summer and fall camp before this season that you've already counted. If that's what you meant you should have stated it that way instead of trying to mislead to advance yer narrative. I would have more respect for yer argument if you just forgot he has only been here 2 years. How you did it kinda nullifies yer points because yer bias shows.

I've stated multiple times I have no bias towards any of our QBs. I could care less who plays QB, they are college kids I have no favorites.

As long as they produce and we win games, I am on board.

Having an opinion on how someone has advanced in college is a different story and that is not biased.

I don’t know how Pruitt will handle QB’s but I can not stress enough how important it is for him to have a DC first HC. All elite QB’s only become that because of their great understanding of defensive concepts. I can’t wait to see what this kid is gonna do. I thought Shrout and DWA was the two biggest signings in this class. Let’s see if that’s right.

Then why did you frame it like he's already been here 3 seasons and only has 2 left. That makes it seem like you intentionally mislead to advance a narrative. If you just misspoke that's one thing and understandable. But you said that's what you meant so it seems intentional. I don't agree with yer opinion of jg but don't have a problem with it. But saying it the way you did seems to intentionally make it seem like he's been here longer than he has developing. And that he has less time to improve. Like I said at first, keep debating just get yer facts straight.

Well here are his highlights for 2015-2016.... All accurate throws to include being hit and getting the pass off with 2 guys on him. Quinten Dormady Tennessee Highlights (2015-2016) | HD - YouTube

Here is his 2017 film and look at about the 38 second mark when he drops one in between two defenders.
Quinten Dormady 2017 Highlights - YouTube

You say he was exposed, if Dormady wouldn't of made some of those jump ball throws (because he trusted his receivers) he wouldn't of helped us win against Georgia Tech. Also, he was playing with a torn labrum.... (No big deal though.....)

Well heck dude JG was years away from starting for UT but guess what he ended up getting it. There is plenty film of him holding on to the ball too long and taking multiple sacks. Blam it on the line all you want to, but at some point as a QB you have to say screw it I'm making a quick read or I'm tucking the ball or I am throwing it away for another day.

As far as JGs upside I don't think he has the highest. He has 2 more years to play. Just 2 and it has taken him 3 to get where he is now.

JG is a redshirt sophomore....has 3 more years of eligibility, just 3.

I definitely should have made it clear and framed it wrong that is true but it was unintentional.

Just like bashing JG in the Calzada thread was unintentional too? Right. :whistling:

You knew what you were doing. He has three full more years to play and you were acting like he had two.

Yer not unbiased in yer arguments either so may want to hold off on the taunting.

All my arguments are unbiased. Based on numbers. There are certain markers of historical success that Shrout has failed to meet. He has potential but no one should be saying he is better than Chryst or JG at anything based on reports, rankings, or stats.

Good potential. Long way from starting. That is an unbiased assessment. :hi:

All your arguements are unbiased? The only quarterback you have pulled for is JG. Any other thoughts from anyone else on a different QB and it's the fact that, that person just hates JG or is bashing him.

I stated I thought JG did well in the Spring Game and even showed speed that wasn't prevalent last year. I also stated I still think he has work to do. But what quarterback doesn't?

It's a fact that JG has progressed slowly. (Possibly due to coaching)

You've only brought about the fact of Shrouts interception ratio ingnoring that his team was awful and he made a lot of forced throws to try and keep his team in games. You completely ignore how many yards he threw for in one season (his only full season as a HS QB).

I have stated multiple times that I don't care who starts as long as we win. That's the truth.

Stating that you are unbiased has the same effect as a mechanic naming his shop Honest Mechanic. It makes me even more skeptical.

In this debate he is clearly the best based on production, arm strength, potential, and the industry hype yall like to lean on. That is why.

Interceptions aren't the only red flag.

What about the 51%?

He hit 7.4 ypa so he wasn't throwing a ton of bombs.

I don't care who wins as long its the best guy.

I have only responded to people claiming Shrout is going to start, has the best arm, and has the best potential. Nothing points to that. Its not realistic.

I have said he has potential. He doesn't have a great shot at playing anytime soon though. Some people can grasp that and say that is bashing. Noah. its just the truth.

Most likely JG starts. Its between JG and Chryst by all accounts. If JG starts Shrout doesn't see the field for two years at least. Then he would be competing with whomever we bring in.

cage match between chizzle, d4h and ktown. winner gets a Chryst jersey.

lol.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I'm with you, I could care less who starts. Now are some players harder to pull for? Absolutely. I won't lie, JG isn't the easiest player to pull for or the most likable. But he could be a really good QB for us and long as a player helps us win it doesn't matter if he's likable or not. I'll still pull for and support whomever is in there. I wasn't a big fan of Tyler Bray, but you can bet every Saturday I was pulling for him like he was my child.

I know it was one rep, but his footwork didn't impress me. The last guy had the best, followed by the 2nd and 3rd guy. Guess he'll Brett Favre it.
