Calexit!

The south takes far more than they give, in terms of tax money. It is a fact. Without California's 16% contribution to the tax revenue of the federal government... the south would lose the source of the funds they count on to survive.
That sounds like an opportunity for this region to be more self-sufficient. Mat have to rely more on FL and TX for some of the off season crops, but I think in the long run it could be a net positive.

California is getting ready to pass universal income. Explain to me how they are going to afford that?

Oh I know. One of my other favorite parts of this whole universal income thing is that the morons pushing for it don’t seem to understand that prices on everything will go up. Give everyone $500 and then that basically becomes the new 0.

They’re testing it by giving some people some money in specific places. Yep, great experiment. Lol

GDP is a percentage of the total output of the country. Take out 20% of the economy and you also reduce the denominator by 20%, it's a wash.

% might be off a bit but Ok. I think that in the long run they would be beter off. The coast is both beautiful and necessary for the success of the rest. Dont forget that.

No, of course the south wouldn't just dry up and cease to exist, but without much of the government funding they count on there would be a significant economic impact. BTW, the states hit the hardest would be Mississippi, Arkansas, Alabama, South Carolina...
The welfare recipients would just migrate to California. Just make sure you all leave your borders up for them the same way you do for our neighbors to the south.

Do you remember when those National Guard Humvees got washed away on the river?

With that big of an economy, they would progress to other means of power and water.

Short sighted on your part.

How do you figure that?

Coal? No

Oil? No

Natural Gas? Meeeeehh, no

Nuclear? No

Wind? Lmao

Hydro? Hahahah no dams.

Solar? Sorry, the Western Sage Flying Ground Squirrel needs that land

Water? You know desalination plants use quite a lot of power, right?

Like I said short shighted on your part.

Like I said short shighted on your part.

They’ll just sue God for being discriminating against them with physics. It will of course get thrown out due to stupidity. However the 9th Circ.... Er I mean Supreme Court of Kalexico will come in for the win and uphold on appeal.

God will have no choice of course but to change the laws of physics.

Seems reasonable.

When you come out and say "sue god" and started your argument from that, you should have just kept that thought to yourself.

You don’t have the first clue about power generation, yet California will “figure it out” because we’re a buncha myopic dumbasses?

You need to leave this one alone.

Yawn... weak...😴😴😴 c’mon at least try

And why not sue God. Got about as much chance to get him in court as Mueller’s Russians and you nimrods get all giddy over those.

It's better than just calling someone short sighted repeatedly because they don't believe in your fairy dust.

Mmm like what? California is slowly boxing itself in development wise. They want the people and the businesses but they don’t want the messy things that those things require like power plants and waterworks. So they pay other states for it. They will tear each other apart figuring out where the next power plant goes or what river can be used to supply water that doesn’t endanger some snail or water bug.

Trump is refusing to Fed monetize a Cali emergency fund desperately needed due to the fire sit there. This could force Cali into potential bankruptcy.

If that happens, all bets are off.

You guys are really defensive about California. It is the 5th largest economy in the world. They absolutely could make that work. Great Britain seems to be doing alright in 6th. A succession won't be allowed because people more objective than yourselves at the helm. Also, if California is allowed out then Texas might want to follow suit. Ask yourselves how that might work out if 23% of the US economy left.

You might disagree with left coast politics, but even Trump will tell you that their money is green.
Its idiots still stomping their feet because they couldn't beat the worst nominee you could imagine out of the field, with a Clinton.

We didn't get our way so here comes our half ass threat. The hilarious part is how you took the idea that most here don't care.

I'm not sure why you are puzzled at the responses specifically after your first few posts in the thread.

Much of California’s power is imported from Nevada and Arizona, too. Let them secede and, when they do, we will place a tariff on every electron pumped into the confines of the Divided Socialists Republic of California.
Water and electricity being imported in exchange for wine and lettuce.

Cali has lots of oil, fyi.

I like that buffer area they are proposing. Independent Native American area or something like that. Notice that they want to give the 'Native Americans' all the high desert and zero land near the ocean. A human shield as it were from the country they are seceding from. Amazing how generous these people are.

I would call them fruitcakes, but I actually like fruitcake.

I figured that somebody must like fruitcake.
