Honestly...

She's not wrong too refuse such a thing. FDNY is entirely structural in their firefighting. They are very likely not trained in the firefighting that needs to be done in LA.

Can they test a fire hydrant?
Can they roll up a hose?
Can they perform EMT functions?

They could augment the existing force in a support function better than the local inmate population can…

The city is burning, and she’s reportedly refusing help from trained professionals.

It’s a bad look.

Like I said, California needs whatever assistance they can get.

American citizens are suffering because the politicians whose duty it is to protect them have failed them.

You telling me that NYFD can't be helpful in this situation? Wow

It certainly would seem different. Buildings vs hillsides. I guess the common denominator is fire.

What fire fighting support are the inmates out there providing?

You are assuming they have the equipment in place for them to use and didn't send it to Ukraine...

I agree in principle, but if it's major metro help they want, LA would be far better served getting firefighters out of Sacramento, San Fran or San Diego or any department in California that's used to dealing with the type of fires they have. As well as knowing the local landscape.

Yes I do actually.

It's obvious that LA is seriously ill equipped to handle what is happening.

For the mayor of Los Angeles or whoever is calling the shots out there to refuse help from the NYFD or the Mayberry FD or whoever is offering assistance is borderline criminal in their actions.

This is liberal insanity on display.

Hell, homeless folks willing to carry water in buckets should be welcomed with open arms

Agreed they would be better served getting help from nearby. Hopefully that help is coming.

Even if FDNY was serving purely in a support role, it would be better than nothing - surely they can perform better than the inmates from the local jail.
