I didn't say it wasn't, but how do you argue that it's anything more than a GREAT regular season win? Once the seeding is done, that win is in the books and means nada the remainder of the season. Now if we play with that kind of intensity the rest of the season, we can look back at that game and say "That's it, that's where it started". It's a stepping stone game and a damn good one at that. And to answer your challenge, we were the #14 ranked team in the nation with our two best players still on the team. Yeah, we lost a starter and a warm body(Williams) but this is Chism's team anyway. UT's success rides on his shoulders.

Bruce Pearl is an excellent coach and is filling the seats winning on the way. The crowd sounded great watching from TV. I can't imagine how some of these blue hairs that go and think the game is supposed to be a church service can take it. Go Vols!

amen, right on i agree 100%... if you cant appreciate all Pearl is done and is still doin for you UT your not even a real vol fan so dont trash our threds with all your we dont like pearl filth!!

How were you selected to decide who is and who is not “real vol fans”? Did it involve a chimney and smoke or did you just ordain yourself?

The least palatable part of the whole "message board experience" for me is the inability of VN to enjoy a big win without somebody feeling the need to start a childish "in your face" thread calling out other fans of the same freaking school.

Yep. A giant, emotional win like this and 2/3 of the threads are basically FU threads. You come here to celebrate and instead it's monkeys throwing feces at each other.

I agree to an extent. However, you had to know it was coming today. There is one heckuva lot of hatred and unjust criticism spewed from a select few on a daily basis around here. You just had to know the "in your face" posts were coming and well, pretty much deserved.

It's too bad it has to be that way and will probably never change unless people change their styles. Just a great, great win today though and that is what is most important.

hahaha funny but why would ne vol fan not like Pearl??? he is the best thing thats happened to UT basketball in along time... we just got a big win so suck it... Pearl isnt goin anywhere..

It was a hell of a win today, but i don't see how one win deserves an "in your face" thread. Especially a regular season win. If this was a sweet 16 or elite 8 win, or even better a final 4 or NC win, I would be going ape **** and agree that an in your face thread is ok.

It being a regular season game, its impact can only be so much, that's agreed. But its THE BIGGEST (single, to "clarify") GAME a UT bball team has won. (Obviously IMO) There's nothing in your post that I don't agree with in regards to what needs to happen moving forward. As far as your #14 argument, cmon now. 37% of our POINTS were gone! Some are made up bc other people were taking the same shots, obv..but it still tilts in the common sense direction on this one lyls, be fair!! And how many scholly kids did kansas dress tonight? We dressed 6, (some not worthy of scholly's according to your(not u lyls) posts.) And played I believe 2 WALK ONS at least 10 minutes apiece against undefeated KU. I haven't looked at the minutes but I'm guesstimating. Good answer as far as a big upset,what was Virg's record and rank, and Chaminade has schollys' right?

But one regular season game just doesn't mean that much either way. The USC game by itself didn't mean that Pearl was a miserable failure, and today's game by itself doesn't mean that Pearl is an elite coach. I'm not sure why we as a fanbase have to FU each other so much over it.

can you tell me what coaching decisions were made during the game where pearl out smarted self?

can you tell me how coach pearls game plan or in game adjustments to that plan out-coached self?

answering those questions will determine if anyone out-coached anyone else.

the gang played with incredible effort and focus today. we shot insane from 3. KU shot not as good as they usually do from 3... and our defensive effort was tremendous.

maybe we can suspend or dismiss more players before the UK game(s)... to motivate everyone.
