The police report said the weed was "in plain view laying on front drivers floorboard."

The police arrested the driver for possion of weed and the passenger for illegal possion of firearm that was in his lap.

His affidavit says he saw the bag on the driver's side floorboard after he made everyone get out of the car. Once the cop told them to get out so he could search, anything he found was a fruit of the search. It no longer matters where it was.

I know many who were for first time offenses. Don't act like drugs and guns are no big deal.

There are victims. The 4 criminals in the vehicle with the guns and drugs who were not held accountable for their actions. Its a shame. These are the type of situations where next time it will be much worse. It won't be just some weed or a gun. It will be murder over drugs. Assault, Robbery, you know the kind of things that escalate when idiots aren't held accountable.

Found this from the article where the UT players were suspended and/or dismissed. Very similar to what happened in Monroe.

Police pulled over the vehicle the four were in for speeding and said they smelled marijuana coming from the car and found a handgun with an altered serial number, a bag of marijuana and an open container of alcohol. Tatum was driving the car, which was a rental borrowed from one of the player's friends, and is also charged with violating Tennessee's open container law.
