Cam Seldon enters portal

I think they split carries fairly even between the 2 next year… idk why so many don’t think bishop is legit… he was ranked low but produced in the highest classification better than anybody in the history of the state. If not for him being an excellent rb in the 2nd Q most of the season I don’t think Sampson is able to close 4th Qs like he did all year… I think he has a really big year next season.
Bishop is legit but Lewis just looks like he is built to receive more carries.

Lewis and Bishop is a fantastic duo-
This was best decision for Sutton for sure- he’s too good to ride the pine all next year, but he’s not good enough to get carries away from the top two.
And we got Morris too.

While Seldon had tons of potential, his injuries opened the door for other players to earn those 2nd string reps. And to be frank, I was always concerned with his vision and ability to see the open crease. His YPC always took a significant dip against conference oppenents and he was simply outplayed by Desean Bishop. Once Peyton Lewis started earning more carries, this move to the portal was inevitable.

Would have still liked to keep him as a 3rd string back next year, but understand him wanting to find a path to more playing time.

Makes me think Sampson may have told the coaches he's coming back next year to finish his degree. Just a thought before our keyboard coaches weighs in with, he has to go because he may get hurt if he stays.

This one stings. We were all so high on him as a recruit and the little bit of pt he got there were some small flashes. Really bad luck with injuries. Fingers crossed he pulls back out of the portal, but I don’t expect he will. If D-Samp goes to the NFL, this means we likely need a back from the portal.

@Plove23 not sure if you’ll see this, but we appreciate you, man. Best of luck to Cam wherever he ends up.
Nothing but love, thank you guys!

Hopefully, Sampson will come back. Lewis and hopefully some others who WANT to play for the Vols will add some depth.
I wish some of these kids would quit chasing money and actually understand what they’re doing. I understand if they were playing on some team that has little to no chance of going anywhere, but the Vols are in the playoffs and the future is blazing bright, for Pete’s sake. If they’re down the depth chart, work harder!
I hate NIL and the greed it breeds. I understand it’s the way things are now, but I still hate it.
I hope their lockers are cleaned out and their stuff is set out on the sidewalk right out by the football complex where they can hear playoff practice while they pick it up.

If he's coming back the degree will have very little to do with it

Hopefully Bishop can stay healthy. History doesn’t show he can.

He wasn't that good.
Hard to tell.

He was never healthy enough to get into a groove.

Fortunately we’re a recruiting juggernaut and we signed two really good RBs from HS and the portal isn’t even in full swing yet.
