Cam Seldon enters portal

I had really high hopes for the kid but the injury bug kept biting him, I wish him luck where ever he goes as long as it isn't a rival of ours lol

He was only a 3 star. And it’s not like he was beaten out by chopped liver either. Dylan Sampson just set the Tennessee single season rushing record.

I also called Bishop a steal.
What about that?

Said Jaylen Wright would play as a freshman.
What about that?

10 year career? In what universe have you been watching pro football. The average career of an NFL running back is less than 3 years.

I’m saying unless he has a 10 year career in the league he’s not necessarily going to get “life changing money”. Especially if we pay him 6 figures to stay another year

I respect you to much to argue, but Khalifa was beat out by Samson, Bishop(who I was all in on),Lewis and Seldon

I was hoping somehow Bishop would he a vol

Wright was dang good ,and I hope Morris turns out the same, but I wouldn't mind getting a 5* every once in a while

Different running style but he’s really damn quick.
I don’t think he ever really had a future as a RB. Keep in mind he was initially recruited as a WR and started out at RB simply because of the bodies we had at WR last year, and he probably should’ve been moved back there once Bru got hurt and especially once Thornton went down. At minimum he would’ve been valuable in the screen game as a receiver or a blocker and could’ve been used on jet sweeps and deep balls

I thought he ran pretty decent. Had around 5 ypc or something like that this year and I’m not sure he was ever 100%. I feel like he could be a really good weapon in the right offense.

we really cannot afford to lose any players.

That graphic showing BC breakdown is pretty damning, esp amongst Playoff teams.

Kind of weird given the production out of the rb position we haven’t yet been able to land a five star rb.

Absolutely.
And I’m not saying they don’t ever get the rankings correct. But there is politics involved and usually it’s just a recruiting site not getting that prospect to go to one of their camps or they committed to a school early and never really wavered so they don’t put any real effort into ranking them properly.

It’s just that Morris and Baker are two highly skilled HS backs that are young but ready to contribute.

Cedric Baxter at Texas is a guy I would love for us to target, even though he was injured last this season.

Dunham- the kid at LSU from Duncanville TX is another dude that could come in and start over Bishop or Lewis:

If he gets 3 years in the league, he's vested in the NFL retirement which is extremely good.

He's gone. It's his best option.

Edit: and the NFL rookie minimum is $900,000.

He would fit in an Urban Meyer type of offense like a glove, our splits just give us the ability to use those jet motions and short slants over the middle that they used with Percy Harvin

maybe I’m a cynic but since this is the college football landscape now I honestly don’t care what happens to these guys after they quit. No ill will, I just take them off the list of things I give a $hit about.
It’s almost like we recruit more than we need as tryouts and the transfers didn’t make the cut.

And so the middle tier programs become the developmental league, as the portal lowers the return on investment by the top programs.

By his senior year, Cam could have become a new hybrid of running back/receiver, a guy who lines up in the backfield and creates all sorts of defensive problems when he goes in motion or splits out wide. He had the potential to force defenses to remain in a dime package every down... and then gash them up the middle running the ball.

I can also remember your belief that K Khalifa would be a stud in the backfield, there is a little something to those ratings.
If you can watch Daune Morris and think he’s just a 3*, I don’t know what to tell you. Sometimes the ratings are accurate, often they are not.

The Tennessee staff, the USC staff, and the Auburn staff (among others) sure think he can play. They have much more credibility than the website nerds.
