Cam Sutton received a death threat

it's a huge leap to go from "fire Bajakian" to an actual death threat on a player

Yes, it is. But it's not a leap to think some of the bipolar variety on here that one week love you, one week hate you, next week love you again would contact a player while amped up on emotion.

But it would be helpful if we don't endorse that version of events until we know for sure it went that way. :hi:

it's a huge leap. Obviously you're willing to take it but I'm not. Especially when the members of VN who post constitute such a small part of the UT fanbase

I would place my bet on Jimmy Jack wearing his mesh UT hat (and not the retro kind) while driving his truck with a 98 NC plate with Calvin peeing on a gator head

You can stick your head in the sand if you want. As a moderator, you should realize the insanity that appears here on a continuous basis.

97000 thousands for a 4-6 team on a very cold dreary day makes us a great fanbase, don't buy in to the lies, we support our team no matter what!

There were not even close to 97,000 people in Neyland on Saturday night. I have no idea where they get those numbers, but the upper deck was a little more than half full and the lower bowl had plenty of empties.

I do and as I said before I didn't see posts that would lead me to believe it was a poster on here. If there was then it would have been dealt with swiftly

Did you deal swiftly with the posters who applauded throwing glass bottles at players that were leaving the field?

Apparently, after the loss to Vandy on Saturday night, Tennessee freshman Cam Sutton received a death threat. This is according to Josh Ward on Sports180.

This is also very surprising since Cam didn't have a key fumble, call any fake punts, throw any interceptions, make any bad line placement calls, etc. etc. Seemed to just play his normal steady game. Usually the crazies single out someone they hold responsible for the loss.

Apples and oranges.

The following is a direct quote from a poster on the first page of the thread that alleges that bottles were thrown at Vandy players as they left the field (I did not see it, so I am not saying it happened - I am just appalled at the sentiment expressed by this poster and am curious whether you "dealt swiftly" with him/her):

I'm glad we did. James Franklin is an arrogant prick and their players and fans now think they own our state because they've beat us two years in a row. Go read Vandymania, it's even more pathetic than some of the threads on here. I don't think there's anything wrong with doing that, it's a risk you take going to an opposing stadium...

I've modded so much garbage in the past 24 hours that I can't remember what I've done.

I agree that opinion is pretty stupid . . . but it's not a death threat either.

Saying it is a risk you take still doesn't justify it. I have been to opposing stadiums and I have been the target of bottles thrown at me. (And I realize this was a quote)

Shall we study your past post history to get a better idea of who you are? I am sure you would not like that.

Edit: and don't worry about erasing some of them, I have saved plenty.

Be interesting to hear what was actually said and how it was said. Obviously someone on twitter hash tagging you suck I should kill you is different than someone in your face saying next time I see you I will slit your throat. Ppl are obviously

Coach Jones actually broke the news of the death threat at the Knoxville Quarterback Club today. He didn't reveal anymore info about the threat and joked he was glad he didn't need a bullet-proof vest to speak there.
