Can we beat Vandy?

It's winnable -- every game is. But honestly we need to make major adjustments and game plan for the win rather than the process. If we continue to just give Dobbs experience and run the same offense then we should lose handily again. "Hurry up and punt" has worn our defense out.

I think Jones and company can create a game plan to exploit Vandy - hope they are not too stubborn

It's going to take time.

Never mind that Vanderbilt went from 2-10 to 6-6 in one season though.

Well, bear in mind that Florida team has all but given up. We're not burning down any barns right now, but neither is Florida. We have a Bye going into Vandy and it's at home. Those are 2 that work in our favor.

However, I'm not optimistic about this game at all even with all of that said. Vandy gets results with sub-par athletes through some witchcraft that UT has yet to find.

I'd really really like to say yes...

But I said yes to Auburn and look what happened.

At least we have a bye week to prepare. CBJ is very good coming off bye weeks. I don't think anyone saw at the beginning of the year this kind of schedule. We've played Top ranked teams 8 out of 9 weeks in a row (first time since Pitt 1993). Now there's plenty to talk about as far as who's to blame for the margin of scores in our losses. But I see a very young, inconsistent team playing talent clearly better then them. Out of those games we've only played two complete games, Georgia and USCe...Vandy and Kentucky are opportunities to get more consistent. I want to see complete games from all our units. Vandy and UK are not on the same level talent wise as our recent competition and with two weeks to prepare for Vandy there is no way CBJ's team will come out flat. I expect a close hard fight but a win. UK will be an opportunity to finally win on the road. Sure wins against Vandy and UK won't make anyone just uber excited but when our talent is more similar to a Vandy (unfortunate but true) we have to win when we can and look to recruiting to improve our foundation. Going to a bowl will help in this process. This horrible stretch is finally over...we're lucky we pulled out a win against USCe because that means we're still bowl eligible. Can we finish strong after a brutal three game stretch?
