As much as I absolutely despise James Franklin, he's doing a much better job with Vandy than Butch is with UT. They're getting better, beat 2 teams in Ga and Fla that we didn't and, quite honestly, may never again. We're now back to square one after looking like we were improving. This is not good.

It will take a very different looking team than the last couple we have fielded to beat Vandy.

We have a bye week we have the run game needed to beat Vandy. If we run well and keep them honest with passes, we will win.

Remember we scored 23 points in Dobbs 2nd start ...better than his first and it was on the #22 defensein allowed scores. With Dobbs having two weeks to prepare, and at home for SENIOR NIGHT I say vols win and win big to be honest. Too much energy will be with those Seniors. They want a bowl.

I don't understand. Bring back the team that lost to Ga and play a team that beat Ga and that somehow that gives you a better chance, makes little sense.

It pains me to say this, but I think we could very well see 4-8 this year. The team psyche has become much more fragile as the season has progressed, and think the next two games are going to come down to guts and effort.

I'll say the same thing I said with Dooley, and any other coach at UT. If you lose to Vandy, at home, it's time for you to go.
To say otherwise with Butch would essentially be saying that Vandy is now on equal footing with us-they lost in OT two years ago, kicked the living hell out of us last year. If they come to our house and win this year, we have much, much bigger problems than missing a bowl game.

Candy and Kensucky , after today a little scared. Saw them quit again today. Butch has got some work to do. We find out now if he is the man.

When the D is pressuring the QB and you return the int inside the 20 you can't get a lot of total yards. The 75 yard drive in the 4th quarter to put the game away is all they needed. All this with a freshman QB and your 2nd and 3rd we out of the game. Should be a good game in 2 weeks hoping Vandy has wrapped up the bowl game so the pressure is off.

Franklin will have this team sky high for the Vols, and they'll roll in on a 2 game winning streak.

So I say UT 45 VU 7.

On the one hand, we have a bye week to rest and recharge before playing them, so that will help UT quite a bit.

OTOH, Vandy plays Kentucky next week in Nashville. Vandy isn't great, but they're usually good at winning cupcake games lately. Coming into Knoxville already having that 6th win and not having the monkey on their back so to speak would be a major morale booster for them.
