Casey Clausen

We haven't had a good QB since C. Clausen. Ainge and Bray had big arms and had some nice games--but neither one had much toughness or leadership ability at all. Bray was very unlucky to play with some of the WORST UT defenses in 50 years. With any kind of defense his tenure probably would have been much more successful.

UT HAS TO START recruiting mobile QBs. We haven't had a QB with even mediocre running ability since....who? I can't even remember the last one! Mobile QBs are a major asset in college--you'd think our coaches would get this by now.

In Fulmers last yrs the same could be said in reverse. I remember one year we had the top 5 Ds and 106th Os. It happens.

Btw - Peterman is a mobile QB. If LK wouldn't have dropped who we dropped we would have had a mobile QB the last few yrs.

I was answering a question, but I understand how facts can be a troubling issue.

Yes. To a topic that you started. In the wrong thread. This is the Casey Clausen thread, not the Casey Clausen and let me throw my butthurt feelings about PF in there too thread.

Wrong again. It was the you never know what you have until it is gone thread. I was just drawing a similarity between the two. I never started a topic, it was just a comment.

Casey was a beast looking back. My freshman year was 2001 and we gave him **** because he had blonde spikey hair, wore fleece jump suits and didnt say much. I remember him being told to leave one of our frat parties and about 30 minutes later Daniel Brooks shows up with a bat and just about cleaned house. One of my pledge brothers broke his ankle jumping out of the courtyard trying to get away from Brooks, lol.....ahhh the memories!! That was the end of Brooks of course but Casey kept proving us wrong over and over...

Tee Martin was the last. Really should have been an eye opener for the coaches too. Honestly, Tee wasn't a great QB. He was good, but not great. His one advantage was his ability to move. Had we started recruiting highly rated mobile QB's instead of pocket passers after that who knows how the last several years would have turned out.

Edit: CC would be my exception to the rule though. I really liked him. Even if he did run like a baby giraffe. :)

edit : brent schaeffer was our last true mobile qb ...to bad about the attitude problems cuz just a few glimpses of him against unlv soutch carolina and a few huge runs against FL he could have been great...you guys remember the hype around knoxville when we had 2 true fresh battling for the starter spot and both were playing out of there minds...those were the days!

It always seemed like girls loved Casey & guys disliked him...I think it was his attitude dudes didn't like, but I never had a problem with him...always liked him & sure liked the way he won!!! What'd he lose in his whole career? ONE road game!!?!

Doesn't sound anything like that. If CC wasn't the starting QB for UT the girls wouldn't love him and most guys would still think he was a dousche. Pretty simple.

Were is he at now, He asked my daughter out when she/he were at Miss State.
Daughter knew he was a male whoremonger. Heard too many stories not safe to even go out with him... She said he was real nice to have a drink with but he always had plans.
