Cecil The Lion

The poor guy was baited! The fishing guide affixed bait to a line extending from the back of his boat to lure the fish! How horrible!

Some idiot on CNN said the dentist shot a Bighorn Ram with an AK 47 one time --- not sure if I believe that story

Given the conditions in which Bighorn are generally hunted I would consider the AK platform far from ideal so that seems rather unlikely. Possible? I suppose but it's easier to believe it's a smear attempt. (as though that's necessary at this point)

And to the earlier question about bow hunting it's interesting in that many people give rifle hunters a hard time as they deem it "unfair" and that only primitive hunting should be allowed. Depending on who you're talking to hunters lose either way.

While possible, I saw a pic yesterday with him and a bighorn he took with a bow. If they're on TV it's unlikely they have a clue what they're talking about when it comes to hunting and weapons used

AK round is legal at least in Tennessee. AK hunting is legal with capacity limits.

Wasn't taking legality into consideration...high mountain often longer range precision shooting isn't really isn't the AK's strong suit. (speaking to the accusation of using AK for bighorn)

That took way too long to appear.

This isn't what I asked.

If it's just a cat, why do people care either way. Why do people care that Kimmel cares?

I don't believe people in general care that Kimmel does. I think conservatives care because he is crying over a cat when more important issues are at hand. My $.2.

That makes them ****ty people, IMO. Why can't he cry over a cat and be worried about more important issues, too? Why do they look at it like it's one or the other? If they are compassionate people, they should care about both (or at least understand why he feels the way he does).

By all accounts, Jimmy Kimmel is the nicest guy on the planet...like legitimate salt of the earth.

I guess it's funny. A man who did not even know the cat existed one week ago, is crying because it was killed illegally. Animals get illegally hunted daily in Africa and no one cares. Is he upset that a lion was killed or that a famous lion was killed?

Nifty trick you got going there, but it's not an answer.

Those kind of statements on a message board are silly and I see them all the time. We're in a forum to discuss and share thoughts. Just because people have thoughts on a subject doesn't mean those thoughts are central to their belief system and feel threatened by opposing views... let alone about an animal in africa and a talkshow host.

I'm not sure that's why he cried. He cried when he talked about donating to the foundation.

I wouldn't cry over a lion but I feel bad about it. I will cry sometimes when I am inspired by the good humanity does/is capable of. If I were the one giving the speech, if I got emotional that would have been where I got emotional too.

OK.

You're on a message board and you don't have to have a reason for mocking his compassion. I am so glad you cleared things up for me.

I wonder if he cries at the number of domestic cats euthanized daily.
