You have been very positive over the last few weeks,,,,
I am hopeful in that you seem to see this staff making some inroads in recruiting top talent. I ma looking forward to your hints coming true.

There are certainly positive signs, but I expect our poor season this year will impact our ability to land some of the top-flight prospects. We will fill our needs, as I said, and add a few gems along the way.

Does Lane Kiffin have to be in every single thread!!!!!!!!!!?

Geez, people. Let's focus on what we have. We are still in a better situation that we would have been had Fulmer been retained.

Bleed Orange. Go Vols.

How many losses to Idaho, Utah State, and New Mexico State does Lane Kiffin have?

Dude stop being so negative.. He just believes like the rest of us.If you can't back up your coach no matter who it is then u might not wanna watch football.. Dooley will get the job done point blank period..
GO VOLS!!!

Our poor season last year didn't destroy us on the recruiting trail, and we had some ugly losses. Hopefully there are just enough positives about this season to keep us in the mix. If so, there's room to move next year.

This season isn't going to be poor. It's going to be ugly.

I think the idea is to try and get two quarterbacks this year. The linemen will bring down the rankings of this class and I will not even begin to project at this point where we will end up. I do think we will fill all of our needs though and get some bonuses along the way.

Sab, why do you think we won't get 4ish* lineman? Is there strong reason to believe we're not in it for any lineman that aren't graded yet, but will be 4/5*?

The Record When LaMe Kiffin was Hired by UT: 5-15

The Record When Derek Dooley Was Hired by UT: 17–20

You Decide

We'll get our share of highly rated linemen, just not 10 4 or 5 stars.

Sure, not every OL/DL guy will be a blue chipper, but hopefully, we'll be in it. Even in top 3 recruiting classes, there are always some 3*'s. I think CCS will bring in some ballas. Heistand has a sick resume. I think he'll craft his recruiting game along the way. He can say that every Sr he's ever coached in college (at UI at least) was drafted into the NFL.

I'm afraid of that, but I don't think it's written in stone yet. 7-6 is not out of the question. But, like I said, there just need to be enough good moments to keep us in the conversation with recruits. If we can recruit well enough and fill holes this year, we should have a roster for significant improvement next year.

Oh, no. Not the blanket "you aren't a true fan if you don't blindly support your coach" argument. How will I ever survive that one?

And who is "the rest of us"? I don't see a whole lot of people believing in Dooley.

We are a long way from a 7-6 team at this juncture. How much will we improve this fall? Hopefully a bunch. But I still think our ceiling this year is 6 wins. I know everyone wants to look at the talent we have here, but those same people forget that we are in the SEC and while we have been losing players they have been improving theirs.

I'm hopeful for 6 wins. 5 is more likely.
