Charges Dropped in the Jussie Smollett Case

I pray to God I never have to rely on this justice system if my freedom were hanging in the balance. If there's any question the country isn't already lost, this should answer it. Every last player has a motive, from sitting judges to politicians and prosecutors. And they will apply their pressure to fit their narrative or motives. God help us all.
Exactly. Lawyers are not interested in the truth. They are interested in representing the one that pays them. It is THE weakness in the system.

That's a feature, not a bug, of the system. The justice system isn't about "the truth" per se; it's an adversarial system where you're presumed innocent and must be proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Money can really buy about anything, including good lawyers, and that often is a huge factor in guilt or innocence. Not "the truth," because nobody really knows the truth other than the parties in the case, and they're obviously biased.

The part of the criminal justice system that scares me the most is the jury, especially if the case delves into a lot of technical details, which many do. I know you can waive your right to that and have a judge decide, but that's honestly even scarier.

Problem is, I'm not sure of a better system.

I had to "fix" a problem one of my darling kids got messed up in 10 years or so ago. Some money to the right lawyer and a never should have happened problem went away. Money talks, ******** walks as they say.

Up to you to prove it. Not sure what quantifiable evidence you can muster of white people not blaming others more predominantly than other races, but I'm sure you have something other than the generic ramblings of an ignorant, old fart.

And yes, I am an ageist. Thing is, though, I can own it. You can't take ownership of your disdain for other ethnicities.

White people have white privilege and they blame others for it? Is that what you're saying?

Wouldnt phase me. Here in Atlanta I am used to seeing not only that but people buying some cat food and gum and having "their" debit cards declined..like a lot..Odd place this part of Georgia..its almost like there are a lot of people with bad credit and even worse checking accounts..

I'm in South Carolina right now and I swear I've never seen as many lawyer commercials anywhere in the country as I have here. It's like that is a career for most lawyers, call all 9's or all 7's.

I just saw, on social media mind you, that questionable text messages between the DA and his attorneys have been discovered.
They are saying that the DA orchestrated the "acceptable" self imposed punishment.

I am in the process of moving to Atlanta.Currently back and forth from Chattanooga. Left Texas a few months ago as was offered s position closer to home. I will say the traffic here is freakin terrible and a lot worse than Houston. Still lookin for a place to live maybe Woodstock.
50th anniversary coming up this year.

Robert Blake
He played a young murderer in the movie "In Cold Blood," and a motorcycle cop in "Electra Glide in Blue." Electra Glide in Blue had a weird ending when he was closing in on the bad guys on his motorcycle, and they opened the rear door of a van and blew him away with a shotgun. It was a shock.

Yea I remember parts of the movie
Have not seen it or him on tv reruns in years. I guess I remembered him in my mind because of the parrot

Nope. Just saying it is indeed an objectively racist statement to claim that white folks are inherently less prone to passing the blame.
Blacks have been told for years that their lot in life is due to racism. Therefore, they believe it. For years, there was truth in that. Nowadays, I don't think they can pass the blame as easily. Is everyone born with an equal chance to succeed? Of course not. Life isn't meant to be fair.

The best thing to do is to suck it up, and take advantage of your opportunities, not blame others for your failures.

Because obviously there’s no such thing as social injustice like was said all along. It was all for attention to begin with just like Smollett’s 16 felonies.
So let me get this straight... Jussie Smollet faking an incident involving a beating from 2 men in MAGA hats invalidates the Kaepernick argument about cops abusing civilians?

Kaps cause is a hoax too. Name an innocent person that he’s protested for?
