Charlie Strong

Big 10 is a real conference. He had a win over number 1 Ohio State.

The Big East is a real conference too and Charlie Strong got a win over West Virginia. He also got a win over UNC which won its division but if it wasn't for the NCAA they would be in Charlotte right now.

A lot of talk about strong being the guy and that's fine but not much talk about him taking the job.

Am I the only one that thinks he might stay at Louisville regardless if we offer or not??

I suspect he would love to get out of a dead-end situation there.

He did come from Kent State before going to Michigan st.
What about Kevin Sumlin? Les Miles he was 28-21 was he not ready for SEC football. I guess Gene Chizik wasn't ready for SEC football either he was 5-14 at Iowa St.
And we all see how Chizik turned out. Or was he a success in your eyes? Keep in mind that national championship might not stand for too much longer.

There are only 3 coaches who have won the major national championship in the past 25 years who either did not have 2 9 win seasons prior to becoming head coach or was a top assistant directly prior to becoming head coach: James with Washington, Stallings, and Chizik.

Funny thing is all those guys had a lot of NCAA issues following in their wake.

Oh and Strong is in the Chizik category... and has a dirty recruiting coordinator.

He could, depends on our offer most likely. Tennessee is still a destination job for the right coach. We are so thirsty for someone that understands the game of football and I think Strong will make a move for the right offer. He coaches football at a basketball school. I think it's more a matter of which one between he and Fisher that Hart wants to hire.

Hearing now from another post that the choices are 1. Fisher and 2. Gundy

Maybe but they now are in a league that if he goes undefeated he might play for it all. Also I see him being very grateful to them for giving him a chance when no one else would. I don't think it's a given he takes this job. Louisville has some money a well so we will have to pay to get him regardless

This has nothing to do with what we are talking about. We are talking about coach that aren't ready for the SEC. Its not looking too good for your friend allvol. Apparently coaches that come from smaller conferences aren't ready for the SEC.

Step 1, look at the size of the crowds at the championship games. Notice the difference.

Step 2. Surely that says enough.

So your telling me that any BCS conference isn't a real conference. Idk what to say about college football any more.

I think hart will mark a run at fisher and Gundy first but I think both will not accept in the end. If strong says no after that it could be bad

Perhaps in a few years, as you watch more football, you will know that the SEC is numero uno. Big 10, Pac 12, Big 12 have been pretty good. All others are a step ahead of Maryville College sized teams. I hope this helps.

He should have punted on 4th down Thursday night. Wasted a timeout prior to that....Yeah, we're watchin'

...but I don't "hate" him...he just isn't ready.

It happens.

Saban lost two plays and four points due to clock management tonight, and went into the half with two timeouts still on the board.

Richt lost the SECCG tonight due to clock management.

They're still both great coaches, and "ready".
