Strong got blown out by syracuse and lost to uconn and plays a really weak schedule. Louisville was 7-6 last two seasons. Don't want. Would be a bad hire.

He did great things at fla. but not as head coach. Overrated for sure. Many people think he would do well just because he was a great defensive coordinator

Charlie Strong has given no reason to be on a coaching list, especially at UT.

If he cannot wear out the Big East, how can he even think about competing in the SEC?

Petrino did more at Louisville then Strong has. I'd venture to say the Big East now is as weak as conference USA was when Petrino was there.

Like him or hate him because he coaches for Vandy, the guy is damn good at what he does. He is one of the best recruiters in the nation and is a very good X's and O's guy.

A Strong hire, would not make me very happy or positive about UT's future.

Would take Strong in a heartbeat over Franklin. But regardless no way we would pursue him because of the bs he has said about UT no no chance from either side. Gimme Strong all day. Its not like he is beating great teams this yr. UT sux, UK sux, mizzou sux, Wake sux,Presbyterian sux, AU sux, Umass sux,and ole miss is average. Thats a win over 1 bowl team that was 6-6 and they struggled to beat AU and Mizzou. Just sayn...

After thinking about who is out there coaching wise and who we could possibly get, I would consider hiring Strong. I doubt he would take my offer though. I would offer the man $150,000.00 more than he makes at UL. That is all. If he wants to coach at a big time program in the SEC, that is my offer. I would have some possible bonuses in the contract if wins/things happened. I would give him 3-3.5 million for his staff so he could hire a top OC/DC.

I think Strong and Jones are similar coaches. Charlie has some time in the SEC so that would help his case a little. Jones has won more games as a HC. We could hire Jones for about 2 million dollars IMO.

That's the approach Hamilton should have taken with Dooley. Also, a minimal buyout.

So you are using the Republican Obama diss on CS? People claim there is nothing racial to the Strong hate but stuff like this proves it. He sounds more intelligent than Derek Dooley and has more charisma. Dooley sounded like a dumb hick but the fans bashing CS for "charisma" and how he sounds never said that about DD. He was a prick that sounded like a hick.
