Good luck to him, but honestly this is probably good news for our WR room long-term. Kid knew he couldn’t cut the mustard here and needs a fresh start. This is harsh, but I certainly hope the standard for wide receiver at Tennessee is higher than his level of play this year.

What a nimrod
It is interesting to me that Nimrod is a biblical figure known as a great hunter but since bugs bunny sarcastically called Elmur Fud nimrod everyone now thinks it means an idiot. The cultural impact of bugs bunny is still with us.

edit: someone beat me to it!

What’s the advantage of hitting the portal for a player who’s on a playoff team ?
i would guess it to get ahead of the other players that are in the playoffs. I would also guess that the 2 freshmen might have something to do with this. He may feel they will go ahead of him on the depth chart, Mathews may already have done so. This one hurts if we have injuries in the game with the ones that are already banged up.

Oh well. We're just gonna hit the portal again like we pretty much have every year.
Or not?

White (Sr)
Brazzell (Jr)
Matthews (So)
Leacock (RsSo)
Staley (RsFr)
Jackson (Fr)
Dodson (Fr)
Smith ( Fr)

Walkons
Sneed
Weary

Heupel preaches competition but he’s always looking for WR types to make the opposition have to defend different skillset.

If we go to the portal it will be for a speed guy imo. Or he just rolls with the guys he has.

So we’re losing
Bru McCoy
Donte Thornton
Kaleb Webb
Chaz’s Nimrod

Gaining
Jackson
Smith
Dodson 🤔

Yeah we could use a portal WR I guess.

It's free agency run amok. That's the name of the game in college football for a very very short while. They'll fix the transfer situation soon. But for now, easily replaceable.

Yeah I mean I appreciate the fact that he was a vol or whatever, but we can’t sit around and act like he was a playmaker. Won’t be missed in the CFB playoff. Just my opinion. Guy couldn’t make plays. Reminded me of Jason Croom the way he could get open and still find a way not to catch the ball. Best of luck to him. He’ll do great at East Carolina or North Texas or wherever he transfers.
